The game is incredible, the graphics are amazing, the combat is terrible and that's a bit of a downside in the movements of the enemies and our character, it also has good stealth, there are plenty of spots for parkour (not like Unity) but compared to the old ones and the RPGs, Mirage is much better, I also consider it quite underrated because it was seen as a DLC of Valhalla, it doesn't resemble Valhalla at all, it has many missions that you take from contracts and this way it boosts the replayability of the game. For me, if you are a fan of the series and prefer the assassin, it's worth it, in duration it's very close to Unity, Syndicate, Brotherhood, AC2 so it can't be justified that it's "DLC of Valhalla," with the same logic Brotherhood and Revelations would be DLC of AC2. The story won't make much sense as you will have to play Valhalla (which Basim is connected to). For me, technically and in gameplay, it is close to what Assassin's Creed should be, and I hope to see something similar in the future.
This thing is unbearable to play stealth all the time, for goodness' sake. As for combat, no way, two attack moves, one defense, and that's it. Unacceptable
Terrible work, very poor regarding weapons, customizations, etc., it mainly focuses on stealth kills and becomes quite boring after a certain point, but personally, I didn't understand two things... 1. Why was I being chased all the time? Even if there is some explanation, I think it was excessive and tiring. 2. Why were there walls everywhere? And the big problem was that when I was climbing the walls to get to the other side, many times there were missing points to grab (meaning you couldn't climb simply put) and I had to search and climb in various spots in order until I found the right one to manage to climb and get to the other side, and this happened constantly and was the most annoying thing for me. I believe those who completed it understand what I mean. Terrible work and it shows that Ubisoft hasn't really put much effort into this. The worst Assassin by far. 2 stars and barely.
I give this game 3 stars only because for an Assassin's Creed game, it was relatively short with about 20 hours, I believe, of gameplay compared to others that can reach up to 50 hours. The combat was terrible in my opinion, and overall I think the others are more worth it.
Now, if you don't like a very open world and don't want to spend many hours, this is just what you need.
Well, Ubisoft, I am a fan of Assassin's Creed, but you have tired me out... the same loot battle motif, etc... We hope that in Assassin's Creed Red you will create something different... with the same core in the game but different ideas... look at Ghost of Tsushima
The 2 stars are just right for the return of the stealth. The story is uninteresting, 0 upgrades to the weapons, no variety in weapons or suits. Money wasted
The sound is very mediocre. The story is uninteresting. The gameplay and combat system are simply tragic, reminiscent of games on smartphones. I got bored within the first 3 hours. Money wasted.
Graphics - sound satisfactory not something great. Gameplay like the previous ones if you have played any of the previous ones you will find it indifferent, the story simply exists it doesn't have anything to pull you in generally the whole game is quite indifferent, it also has quite a few bugs elsewhere it tells you that it is on the map and elsewhere it finally is. I believe we have reached the point where ubisoft should either stop the series or make a huge change I don't find the reason to play the same recycled idea for so many years, I expected mirage to be very close to the first 2 games of the series but no relation
Unfortunately, after the odyssey, we are heading towards the worst. The story is decent, the map is small, there are not many weapons, and there are no upgrades... You pass the time pleasantly without getting too tired because it is small.
Graphics: It is a very beautiful game visually, especially in terms of fidelity. I wonder about the comments that say it doesn't have good graphics. It is definitely not of the same quality as Spiderman 2, but we are talking about an open world title. Baghdad is beautiful day and night. Everything is included in the graphics. The world, the weather changes, the rivers, the deserts, the oases, and the countless animals in the game. Everything looks very beautiful, especially the buildings and the narrow streets of the city. It is logical that there is not the same quality in insignificant characters, the cutscenes are top-notch. And all this for a studio that I think is making a game for the first time.
Gameplay: The game is said to have returned to its roots. I have played all the Assassins and I have a clear opinion. For me, it is a combination of the old Assassins and the new ones from Origins onwards. Initially, we are talking about an open world title, with a satisfactory map. Not huge, not small either. There is a clear emphasis on the stealth element, while combat deliberately takes a back seat. In combat, we have only one move with incredibly chunky animations. They were not interested in combat. There are no levels to level up, there is a skill tree but very balanced, you don't feel like a super hero like in Odyssey. So we go back to the old Assassins with a lot of emphasis on assassinations, but also using modern elements like the eagle and others. There are plenty of things to do in the city, but finally Ubisoft doesn't drown you in endless side quests. If you do everything, it's close to 30 hours. The parkour works fine and there are several new things in the city that you will see. Not to forget the many Greeks in the city with the familiar beloved word. The game doesn't give you everything on a plate and you will need a lot of exploration to find various items and missions. Something that started from Valhalla. One downside is the AI of opponents, which is always mediocre in Ubisoft games.
Story: It is certainly not the best in the series, but it works fine in the game. Basim has a complete story, but he is a bit one-dimensional character. Side quests are more polished as they are clearly fewer.
Soundtrack: Quite quality.
Overall: Once again, I don't understand the hate for a game. Mirage returns 70% to its roots and continues 30% in the pattern of the new Assassins. It is beautiful, with a realistic world, cohesive and not chaotic. New things and old familiar ones from the series, at a reduced price from a studio that is making a game for the first time (Ubisoft Bordeaux). Give it a chance and it will reward you.
Very good return to the roots, meaning the first 4.
Super graphics, nice gameplay.
Don't expect to play something like the last three in the series... it's only 1/10 of their map, very small compared to those.
In my opinion, wait for it to drop below 20 euros
I wouldn't say it's a masterpiece. For 30 euros, it's worth it. Especially if you're a fan of the AC series.
Personally, I don't like that the map is smaller compared to the latest ones.
The combat and overall gameplay don't have significant differences.
I finished it after 32 hours, really indifferent, little content, you can't upgrade new weapons and there aren't any, small world, it's the worst in the whole series for me, not worth buying in any case
Great game! The only thing that bothered me is that they have changed quite a lot of things from Origins onwards! Every new Assassin's Creed always changes something and it takes a little time to get used to it again from the beginning, while it could be relatively the same as the previous ones in terms of combat handling! Overall, it's obviously a great game!!
Coming from all the previous Assassins Creed games, which I have played in the order they were released, I will say that the game makes a commendable effort to combine all the previous games together in terms of feeling. Obviously, each game will be different from the other, so I will talk about this one individually.
A game with very limited graphics. Uninteresting characters, uninteresting dialogues. It does not convey any serious message or emotion. You get lost in a world that has absolutely no character. A very small sense of the area where the events take place. I finished it somewhere around 25 hours after a lot of effort to convince myself that I should play it all since I paid for it. All of this obviously with a lot of skipping dialogues and scenes. The gameplay was also very empty and uninteresting. The outfits were mediocre and characterless, and the unique perks that are integrated into the outfits bring back the vibe of the previous MMO RPG Assassins Creed games that made them complete. Two characteristics drew me into the game, and for that, I give it two stars. The first is stealth. I enjoyed it to the point that I did almost all the missions slowly, methodically, and stealthily. Secondly, the cinematic scenes that play before each major assassination and the transition that takes you back to the character, giving you control to proceed with your mission however you want. Nice buildings, decent parkour, etc. helped in the experience. However, I would not platinum it for any reason. The game tired me out a lot.
Well, it really doesn't have a big difference in its parkour and I mean in terms of how it climbs, etc. The thing is, even though it doesn't have many different aspects from previous ones, you feel that the player is much lighter in their movements and much faster in everything they do. So, in combination with its stealth, which for me had been lost in recent years, it makes it a pretty good Assassin's Creed and I feel that I don't get bored with it, which is important to me because if something bothered me, I would get bored easily, like I did with Valhalla... To sum it up, it's a very good Assassin's Creed with not many changes, but enough to make it a very good game that you won't get bored of easily, and for the price it has, it's fine.
A very nice addition to the Assassin's Creed series, the experience is well-crafted and relies mainly on stealth, which is Basim's strong point. As for the graphics and performance, which I see many people complaining about, I can't understand it. On a 4K TV, the game looks very beautiful and in terms of performance, there are very few times when it drops below 60FPS. The story, playing casually after work, took me about 25 hours along with most of the side quests, and I believe the map is the right size.
Some say that the series went off track with Origins, Odyssey, Valhalla... and now it's back to the same thing. We used to say that Valhalla was huge in terms of content to complete (which it truly was), but now we say that Mirage is small... well, let's decide what we want. And yes, it could have been a DLC for Valhalla, so what? As a consumer myself, I can't understand the problem.
Also, for a next-gen game on PS5 for 40-50€? Very cheap...
I wasted 50 euros for nothing, bad graphics, poor copy of previous AC games, only the music is nice. They took the functions from Valhalla, the oriental style from Origins, and the cultists part from Odyssey, which they named "order" and created Mirage.
Well! The game has very nice graphics, of course, AC games always had good graphics but I mention it as a positive because it doesn't have many. The stealth is nice, it reminds me of good old times!
Unfortunately, this game only has that to offer, a terrible story, very bad combat, it only has 6 weapons in the whole game, very rushed overall. In no way is it worthy of the previous ones and in no way does the story represent an AC game. If you are a fan of the series, you will be disappointed, if you are a fan of video games in general, it is playable up to a certain point! I would buy it again for 10 euros.
I start with the positives:
-Incredible graphics and well-designed city
-Many options on how to approach an assassination
-Very nice lore regarding the time period for those interested in reading it
-Interesting presentation of mechanics, such as citizens recognizing you if you commit a crime and calling for soldiers
Negatives:
-Very basic story that doesn't mention the animus at all or continue the story from the promising ending of Valhalla
-Unacceptable combat
-Mediocre to bad skill tree
-Focused around stealth, but over time it becomes very repetitive
-Limited variety in equipment
Overall, it is a big DLC that is worth around €30. I recommend anyone who gets it to set the difficulty to medium, as on hard, one of the game's mechanics (lockpicking) is very stupid for some collectibles. Personally, I give it 3.2 stars.
However, it is a very easy platinum trophy that only took me 21 hours, compared to Valhalla's 120.
Personally, I liked the RPG element of Valhalla more, although they went overboard with side quests and collectibles. But let's see where Ubisoft will take it with this approach.
I have never seen a more fake promotion in a game!!! I have played all the games in the series and with slow and steady steps, they have made it better than ever before!! The whole point is to make a game just to make money!! In my opinion, stay away!! For those who don't know about assassins, play the first, the second, the origins, which have huge changes, and the top of the series, odyssey. And also, black flag for fun! Everything else is garbage!
BLACK RUG
I am a fan of the series since 2007 when the first Assassin's Creed was released (during the First Crusade period). Indeed, the game has deviated from its core concepts since Origins and onwards, although the recent titles have placed great emphasis on faithful representation of historical elements of each era and impressive graphics. Starting the installation, I noticed that the game's size was approximately 30GB, and I realized that something was not right. Unfortunately, this was confirmed when I started playing the game. Clearly, the most AWFUL graphics in many years! When the motto is "back to roots," I imagined they meant it in terms of the story, not the graphics, which in many parts imitate the graphics from the first Assassin's Creed game in 2007!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't know if they got tired of investing more or if they are gradually abandoning the title;;;;; But let someone compare it to Valhalla or Odyssey and come tell me if the graphics in this game are not far worse than the previous titles! I played it on a PS5 with a Sony OLED 55' TV, so there are no doubts that I don't have a good system. The story is good, as always in most titles of the series, I didn't expect anything less. The game controls are slightly improved compared to Valhalla. In many parts, it has borrowed elements from Valhalla (pointing, examining objects), when traditionally the series always presents a radical change in each new title. And there, too, half-baked work. Don't expect graphics like Ragnarok or Horizon, it doesn't even come close!!!! If you are a fan of the series, you will definitely want it in your library, if not, DO NOT waste your money.
Update: Since I see that the dislikes are pouring in and many people are disappointed, take a look at this video that thoroughly analyzes the rushed work in this Assassin's Creed: https://youtu.be/Z99vjFdcR0g?si=BROR5mwPyHFk-DXK
Epic!
As a fan of the series, I highly recommend it!
Incredible gameplay (improved parkour) that transports you to a different world as soon as you start.
Truly amazing
Very good, it takes you back to the good old Assassin's Creed games with many mechanics from the past and finally with a story that fits the franchise of these games
