Description

The Horch 830 BL is a 1:35 scale car model that includes 244 elements and adds to the COBI collection of historical cars. The bricks and figures depicting General Charles De Gaulle and the driver feature high-quality prints. Horch is a German car manufacturer founded in the early 20th century in Zwickau (Saxony). Horch cars are distinguished by their high quality, modern technical solutions, and exceptional finesse.

In 1933, the luxury sedan "Horch 830" debuted on the market and immediately became a success. In 1935, the Horch 830 B version with a more powerful engine and the Horch 830 BL with an extended body were introduced. Like other companies in the 1930s, it provided vehicles for military needs, while the production of civilian cars was mainly intended for high-ranking officials.

This particular 1936 Horch 830 BL belonged to the commander of the defense of Paris, General Dietrich von Choltitz. After the surrender of Paris in August 1944, the car fell into the hands of the Allies. The next and most famous user of this car became General Charles de Gaulle, leader of the Free French, future head of the French government, and president.

The Horch 830 BL became the general's favorite car, used on many occasions. Perhaps his love for this car led him to end the eternal conflict between France and Germany. In 1963, he signed the "Élysée Treaty" with the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, committing both countries to extensive cooperation in many areas, marking the process of reconciliation between the peoples.
