Huge issue with battery management. From what I see online and in forums, it's about 50-50 that you'll get a problematic piece. It works normally for a few months, and then it decides when it's at 40% or 50% to shut down, and tells you 0% battery, without warning or "battery critical" mode. The battery itself doesn't have a problem because if you charge it for 20 seconds and do a factory reset, miraculously the battery appears at 40% again from the 0% it was at half a minute ago. The problem seems to exist in all iOs with the fast charger. It's a shame that it hasn't been resolved with a software/firmware update. I'm on my second one, and I charge it immediately when it reaches 60%, I hope it doesn't break down and they tell me "you damaged the battery with constant charging"...
I got it to replace the Philips Sonicare 9900 Diamondclean Prestige, which is of similar price, and from the first day I got it, it had problems with Bluetooth, and after about a year it started having battery issues, until at 22 months it stopped charging. The worst purchase so far... The Oral-B, on the other hand, connected from the very first moment, has an amazing app for the phone that engages you to take care of your oral hygiene in many ways, and overall it already seems like a much better choice. Time will tell...
It is the second time that the battery has failed within a few months! The first time (model s9) it broke over time and they replaced it with a new one (s10), as it was under warranty. But even with the second one they gave me, the battery failed within just 8 months! For the amount of money they cost, it is unacceptable for this to happen. They should just admit that the models are defective so we can turn to another company. I would not buy any model from this particular company again. We pay 100 times more than the price of a simple toothbrush and we can't even do the most basic job! Unacceptable!
Guys, I bought my first one three years ago! Problem with the battery. I gave it a second chance and bought a second toothbrush, and in a shorter period of time it presented me with a battery problem again! It's too much money for this to happen in such a short period of time!
At first, I had difficulty connecting the toothbrush to the mobile application, but the problem was that almost every time you want to connect it, you have to put it on the charging base, but it does what it promises just fine
Yesterday I received it. I was quite impressed by the quality, the awesome design, and the premium packaging. It's the first time I buy such an expensive toothbrush, especially from the io series. My previous one, which I had for about 5 years, was a cheap electric one from a bad time. So the comparison measure is chaotic and completely different. It's very easy to operate, although it can be a bit frustrating until it connects to the app or it may disconnect a few times. It has Greek as the default language (very positive), depending on the time it displays on the screen "Hello", "Good morning" or "Goodnight" !! Surprisingly, it has very interesting functions. Initially, it teaches you how to brush your teeth correctly, maps their surface through the app, and shows you if you haven't brushed a section properly. It also warns you if you apply too much, too little, or the ideal pressure with different bright indicators on the top, as well as on the magnetic wireless base also with bright indicators of the 6 quarters of the teeth.
It also has 7 operation programs and charges in about 3 hours. The battery life will obviously depend on usage and the frequency of connection with the app because it connects via Bluetooth and WiFi only at the frequency of 2.4GHz, so prolonged use drains the battery faster. Another important function of the app is that it notifies you when you need to change the brush head every 3 months (very convenient for us who can't remember what we ate yesterday). The travel case is an excellent idea because besides protecting it, it also charges it as an alternative option.
Personally, I bought 4 additional ultimate clean and another 4 radiant white heads, as the radiant white ones are supposed to better remove stains and residues left by some foods and drinks (such as coffee, tea, etc.) with their whitening function. Only time will tell their effectiveness. Overall, with proper use, regular brushing 2-3 times a day, floss picks, and mouthwash, I believe it has a lot to offer. Because as they say, a healthy mouth means a healthy body.
I hope that nothing will arise and I won't need to come back with an update review.
In short, if you want to invest in an excellent toothbrush and of course in the health of your teeth, this one, although very expensive, is the only way to go !!!
Indeed a feeling of cleanliness after the dentist.
I wonder if you leave it on the charging base after each brushing, as it charges like that after each use..
No interaction with Apple Shortcuts (shortcuts / automations) - It's like it has been forgotten to be updated (but it hasn't). Kind of a disappointment..
Words are unnecessary. Of course, it is expensive and some may consider the price excessive for its purpose, but the feeling of cleanliness and, of course, the actual cleaning of the teeth differ significantly compared to simpler electric toothbrushes or manual ones. I believe any Oral-B from the iO series, generation 7 or 8, with a reduced price at this time, is a worthwhile investment.
I had the opportunity due to my profession to have in front of me 4 different categories of toothbrushes, with the most expensive one being the Oral-B iO Series. I didn't expect it, but the difference was clear, so I bought the Oral-B Series 10 for personal use.
I found it at €190 and it is value for money for what it offers.
The user experience is excellent and the app is even nicer, as it literally teaches you how to brush your teeth correctly or where you are not brushing correctly (yes, it has a sensor for which areas you brush each time!).
Mechanically, it is completely different from all other systems of other brands, even the cheaper Oral-B series.
You can easily find replacement heads at the supermarket and the wireless charging base is beautiful and well-designed. If you plan to spend €200 on an electronic toothbrush, I recommend it, it is excellent.
It is definitely very good, in Greece it is half the price compared to abroad, otherwise I wouldn't even consider it. I bought it to replace the Oral-B Genius X 20000 that I had before and it didn't prove to be durable (it broke at the end of the second year, luckily within warranty, they repaired it for me, it broke again within 3 months, they replaced it for me, and finally it broke again after 6 months). I hope it proves to be more durable.. anyway, the application still struggles to detect when I brush the upper left area.
Be careful not to drop it from your hands, even from a small height, for example when brushing in the sink.
I would like it to be more sturdy in construction to feel more at ease in case of small falls.
I did not experience any issues with the packaging as other users mentioned.
After 10 months of use, the battery maintains its endurance, although it needs to be charged every week with 3 uses per day.
My oral hygiene has significantly improved. I would like to emphasize that I use dental floss and interdental brushes daily. I am 55 years old and I have all my teeth.
I do not use all the programs or the application, I consider them unnecessary. The built-in timer and the one on the base are useful. The case is comfortable and durable.
The charger can be a problem as it has a different plug and you have to carry it with you on trips. The brush heads wear out, but the device notifies you when they need to be replaced after a while. They are expensive.
I am satisfied with the purchase, although the price is high.
So far, it is amazing. It cleans deeply and has useful programs, such as daily teeth cleaning, teeth whitening, tongue cleaning, brushing for sensitive teeth, etc. The battery lasts about 14 days. In the previous model Oral-b Series 9, I had a problem with the battery, as when it dropped below 50%, it stopped working and suddenly showed battery level 0%. Although I returned it and got a new one from the Series 9, I had exactly the same problem. In Series 10, no problem has occurred.
After 6 months of use, I have a relatively reliable opinion.
I believe that anyone who is concerned about their teeth should have it. The reason is that it can inform you how long to brush on each side and with what pressure. Essentially, it teaches you how to properly clean your teeth without damaging them like traditional toothbrushes, and if you pay attention, you can have incredible results.
*It connects to an application on your mobile phone as well as the internet. It's good to check it out 1-2 times. After that, it becomes boring and pointless.
*The wireless charging base shows you the areas of your teeth that you haven't brushed well. Besides needing a bathroom outlet to work, after a few times, you already know what you haven't brushed well.
*It has several programs. I don't know if everyone bothers to change programs. I have simply set it to Daily Use and everything is fine.
*The replacement heads are relatively expensive. Essentially, it creates a recurring cost of about €3 per month for the replacements.
edit: In 5 months and a total of 10 charges (I don't let it run out or leave it on the charger), it shuts off during brushing. I haven't figured out the reason yet...
Due to its high price, perhaps the iO 9 with the Duos package, which includes 2 toothbrushes for the same price, would have been a better choice.
