Face recognition for parties.
Fingerprint sensor is fine, meaning in 50 unlocks it will fail once or none at all.
Selfie for tears! The Pocophone F1 really had an incomparably better selfie. Overall, the camera does not focus correctly in low light in photos. During the day, it was good. I tried gcam, worse results I saw.
Battery lasts 24 hours++ with WiFi always on, brightness at 30% to 40%.
Interesting screen.
Good touch response without false touches.
Let's say vanilla - Google experience, without silly applications. Just need to find a good file management application.
I have Cosmote and it works well on 4G, I didn't get 5G in the area where I live to have knowledge on the subject.I conclude that it is a great phone.
The area gets 5G, it was getting it even when I made the comment, just that back then I didn't know how to ask to activate that specific feature (on my numbers) as well as others like VoLTE, VoWifi. I have Cosmote and Vodafone numbers.
I tried it as a dual SIM, it's fine just that the battery doesn't like the 2 cards and that's logical. It still gives me 16 hours of use with 30% battery in 24 hours.
For those who get it, add a tempered glass case to your order basket, it fell 3 times and some "nice" dents appeared on the corners of the phone. I never had a phone with aluminum all around and I see that it is actually a very soft metal. I miss the Pocophone F1 which had plastic on the back and I didn't care where I left it, it had fallen on the floor over 20 times and nothing happened, of course the color was fading or the plastic was making big marks, but I wasn't afraid of breaking the "eggs" like with the Nothing Phone 1.
Great phone for everyday use. Video viewing, seamless use of Bluetooth headphones, great calls, you can hear the caller well. It does almost everything a modern smartphone should do (except selfies) correctly.
I always do the updates, now we also have GPT chat ''who's catching us''. I haven't tried face recognition again, I really can't be bothered, maybe I'm the one making a mistake after all.Buy it considering what I said if you care about my opinion as a user of 7 months.

The phone is very good. It is one of the few devices that have wireless charging at this price. Overall, it is very complete as a package (Very fast, good photos/videos, amazing build quality, very good screen, stereo speakers, and good battery).

I really don't understand what mistake I have made and I really consider this phone to be garbage.
1) When you talk, it automatically goes into flight mode and the call gets disconnected.
2) The keyboard is all over the place, but you choose to write and it writes.
3) The photo freezes, I can't do anything unless I restart.

I wouldn't call it negative but unnecessary blur in the photos... it blurs the corners of the close-up photos for no reason!
Positives: a decent camera for its price, easily competes with iPhone 12 & 13!

First of all, let's start with the cost of a device at 500+ euros.
We can all read the specifications, in reality, what matters is the issue.
I have had it since the day it officially arrived in Greece and several flagships have passed through my hands. The phone is a 7/10 and I will explain why. It has a very good screen, the sound is average, and the battery, with heavy use of GPS, data, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, social media, etc., all open all day, easily lasts a day. Although it has stock Android, it has many issues that are fixed with updates. The fingerprint sensor has its issues, like any fingerprint sensor of this technology. The camera is good, not extraordinary, but good. The selfie camera is also decent. It is a fast phone that doesn't easily lag when switching between applications, etc. In terms of design, it is very beautiful. Does it deserve its price? When I use it with the screen at 60Hz, it has a very good battery life, over 8 hours of screen-on time, with YouTube, internet usage, and a little bit of gaming. However, I'm a bit disappointed because I was ready to get something else and ended up finding it at a good price and bought it. I liked it because it's somewhat different. I had considered buying this phone but had rejected it due to a higher price. The market research I had done hadn't shown any problems it might have, such as screen yellowing and dust getting behind the back glass. My screen is fine, but very small dust particles have gotten behind the back glass. It's difficult to see them if you're not looking for them, but they're there. Also, if someone is considering getting it, they should do more research because I'm not sure if there is official service in Greece. Finally, I would like to say that while it's not the perfect phone, for the price, it's very good in all aspects.

Disappointed with my choice six months ago and not golden pills (some problems that the company immediately solved)In its features it has 778+ SD 5G. A top-tier processor in the mid-range mobile category that beats the dimensity 1080 5g that came out 1 year later and yet is equally or faster than SD7 gen 1 of xiaomi 13...
Oled 2400*1080@120hz which really, if you want the phone for movies and games, the colors are incredible and the adaptive sync really rocks...!!
8/256 or 12/256 gb (there is also the 8/128 but I wouldn't recommend it for 30€ less) where we have lpddr5 and ufc3.1! Reading levels of a ship captain and seeing this, I think xiaomi, huawei, oppo, realme, oneplus don't put ufc3.1 and lpddr5 in mid-range because the processor can't handle it... How did nothing manage to make it work on a budget cpu and without problems and make it 70% faster in app opening-execution and lightning-fast photo and video download speed?
Finally, it has 2 50mpixel sony imx that are crystal clear photos and videos 1080p@60 H 4k@30 and front 16mpixel with 1080p@60. I believe it is good and the cpu gives the max for crystal clear image and video quality at these resolutions.The charging is 33w which is slow (I prefer the 66-67w as in 20 minutes the phone grabs 50% battery) but I understand that they didn't want to damage the battery with super charge fast and just put a 15w wireless. Also, the battery is small 4500 which lasts 8 hours but you will definitely need charging with "use" of the phone. The lack of fast charge and the lack of 5000/5500 leaves you a bit hanging if you don't have cables or wireless somewhere and have the ability to leave it for 30-45 minutes for charging to get through the day.
Overall, while I was afraid, I bought it and it's fantastic. The only factor is the price not to buy it...!! For 450€ you can find realme gt 2 pro or xiaomi 12/12x/12T or oneplus 10T when it goes on sale. Between us, no matter how many goodies it brings, it doesn't compete with flagship phones but it is definitely a good option for someone who doesn't want flagship performance and wants something a bit more affordable with cameras-screen-charging-sound that do a decent job day and night, I think you're here.

Edit 1 year and something later:
Unfortunately, the device's RAM management is terrible. Apps refresh in the background even if I leave the app for a few seconds as if I have a mobile with 2gb ram in 2012. Basically, the LG G3 I had in 2015 with 3gb ram worked better. Spotify closes while playing music even though I have set it as unrestricted battery, the same goes for Discord cutting off calls because the operating system closes it in the background. I don't know if it has to do with the updates, but it has been happening for at least 6-7 months since version 1.5. I had to go back to my old phone. I will do a factory reset, and I will update again, but if it doesn't improve, I will probably give it to a parent, etc., and get a serious flagship.Edit 2 follow up:
I eventually sold it because a month after the reset, it started the same issues... I haven't seen such behavior in a phone since 2015. It is very annoying and unacceptable in 2024... Hopefully, they will fix their operating system over time. Even in simpler things, it seems that it is not refined at all, compared to a software like the s24 ultra I got now, or like my OnePlus, which is 4 and a half years old, of similar value in the market so comparable, and runs apps better in the background with 8gb ram as well! They clearly focus on supporting the newer models and neglect the older ones. Unacceptable behavior from a company that only has 3 phones and does not support one of them. Clear strategy to make you buy one of the newer models to avoid wasting resources on the old one.I have had the phone for about 3 months. Just updated to android 13 and decided to write a review:
Coming from a OnePlus 7t, I did not expect to see such a difference for the better. I paid about 550-600 euros for both, and the np(1) does not even have a top-of-the-line processor (say gen 1 or even 888). And yet... It is one of the smoothest phones I have used. Now with android 13, it is even better. Obviously, I would not go back to OnePlus because their main advantage was the stock android, which they have now ruined. I was considering a Pixel for the camera, but unfortunately, 5g does not work in Greece and it has issues with networks in general. So I ended up with the np(1) because of the stock android.
When I first held it in my hands, it felt very light, and the vibration was strange. Yet after 2-3 weeks, I would pick up my old phone, use it a bit, and wonder why it was so bad? I think nothing wanted to achieve a premium feeling phone without going over 1000+ and they succeeded. I truly feel like I bought a phone worth double the price! No matter how it lacks in some aspects, the feeling it gives me is amazing. + Very convenient to have wireless charging. In its category, it may not have anything else besides this and the iPhone SE.
Now onto the technical aspects:
- Normal battery. About 6-7 hours of screen-on time with data or wifi on, etc.
- The screen is simply perfect. It is square and flat, like the iPhone, but without the stupid notch at the top. The bezels are symmetrical, so it does not have a "chin" or "forehead," which greatly contributes to the premium feeling I mentioned before. Even more expensive phones than this do not have such symmetry in the bezels. 120hz OLED that definitely plays a role. Brightness for Greece, I would like a little more in some cases, but I don't mind that much.
- The camera is very good. It's not pixel-perfect, but with an LMC Snapcam version of GCam, it takes amazing photos. Videos, especially during the day, reach iPhone levels, and its night mode for photos is fantastic. It's also great that you can turn on the entire glyph interface as a ring light. It provides much smoother lighting than the flash and is much easier on the eyes because with the regular flash, you simply get blinded.
- The glyph is a nice party trick, and sometimes it's convenient to have it upside down on the table so that it automatically goes into silent mode and you can simply see the notifications. It's the only phone I've ever had that I usually keep on sound, as the sounds it has for notifications and calls are extremely discreet. Until now, from 2006-7, all the phones I had were always on vibrate. Overall, though, you forget that the glyph exists.
- In terms of design, most people think it's an iPhone with a case because the shape is very similar. It's absolutely beautiful, though. I got it in white because it seemed more unique to me. The black one is cooler when the glyphs light up due to the contrast, but the white one is more unique overall.It still needs some work to add some features and refine others. For example, while it has glyphs, there is no easy way to set a different glyph for each application. You have to go to the apps, enter the app details, go to notifications, and choose the sound there for a specific notification (e.g., WhatsApp messages) in order to change the glyph as well.
I would not recommend it to very basic users who are used to heavy Android skins like Samsung, Xiaomi. Although most of them are unaware that it exists, so it's okay.
P.S. At first, call recognition didn't work when Wi-Fi calling and VoLTE were enabled, but now they fixed it in the Android 13 update. Finally, because that was the only thing that actually bothered me...
P.S. 2 It does not include a charger with the phone, so you will need to purchase one. Anything from 33W and above with Power Delivery technology will charge it at full speed, meaning approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes from 0-100. I bought a Xiaomi charger with 33W that has dual ports (A and C) and it charges at full speed.

The mobile is amazing. What really makes it stand out:

Definitely get a transparent silicone case as the back glass of the glyph is quite sensitive, in fact more sensitive than the gorilla glass 5 of the screen.-Functionality

The only point where you can find other mobiles in the same price range surpassing it is the battery. Coming from the Xiaomi Mi Note Lite with 5000mAh that lasted almost two days when I first got it, here you have 4500mAh which in average use gives you a little over a day but not more. Quite good, but not top-notch.That's why I would rate the mobile 9.5/10. Otherwise, it's superb!
P.S.: When I first got it, the recognition on the mobile didn't work. With a little research, I disabled 4G calling and it works fine now

I have the phone in my hands since 26/12/2022 and so far I have only positive things to say. It is an excellent device for €500, with a very clean software and a very beautiful and original design.
[Design]
The Nothing Phone is original. I haven't seen many phones that manage to stand out in terms of design but also be simple at the same time. The front screen has a thin bezel which Nothing has managed to keep the same thickness on all sides. On the top left, it has a punch-hole camera and that's it, nothing else. On the sides, the phone has an aluminum frame, which gives it a very premium feel. I would like to emphasize here that the phone reminds me a lot of the iPhone when you hold it. On the right side of the frame, you find the power button, which is placed in such a way that it is very easy to press with your finger. On the left side, the device has the volume up & volume down buttons. At the bottom, we have the SIM tray, the main microphone, a USB Type C port, and a speaker. At the top, we only have the noise-canceling microphone. The back of the phone is what sets it apart from all other devices on the market. Initially, Nothing has managed to create a very nice design that is perfectly integrated with the illuminated "Glyph Interface" of the phone. It gives a different feeling to the device without becoming too flashy like we see in many gaming phones (the phone is not gaming, but we use it as a comparison measure in its design). Also, due to the clear back, you can see the wireless charging coil. On the top left, we have the 2 50MP Main Camera and UltraWide Camera Sensors, the flash, and another microphone (I believe for video recording). So, these are the aspects regarding the design, we will analyze the Glyph Interface in another section of the review.[Software & Performance]
The phone is currently running Nothing OS 1.1.7 (Android 12) but we expect an update in mid-2023 for Android 13, with Nothing OS 1.5. The phone does not come with bloatware, only basic applications plus 4-5 extras from Google. Since it doesn't have any custom UI (like Xiaomi, Samsung, Huawei, Honor, etc.), the phone is very fast, easy to use, and yet, it offers a better experience than all the Custom UIs created by well-known companies. (Personally, after using Stock Android, I can't go back to MIUI, etc.). The apps open very quickly, the phone doesn't have any lag, and I haven't encountered any bugs. Of course, the Snapdragon 778G+ may not be the top processor on the market, but it works very fast on this particular device and the 8GB RAM helps a lot when you want to have many background apps open.[Charging & Wireless Charging & Battery]
I have one thing to say: Better 45W Fast Charge than 120W and 200W made by other companies. What's the point of destroying my battery for the advantage of charging my phone in 9 minutes? The Nothing Phone provides 45W Fast Charge via Type C (but it does not come with its charger in the box), which is quite fast. I haven't measured how long it will take to go from 15% to 100%, but again, I didn't have to wait for a long time. Regarding wireless charging, I don't have a good wireless charger to test it to its maximum capacity, but with the ones I had and tried, if I didn't mind the phone taking a long time to charge, I might prefer wireless charging just to reduce wear and tear over time on the USB Type C port from plugging and unplugging the cable. Otherwise, wired charging is my preference for now. The battery of the Nothing Phone easily lasts the whole day, and I believe it will improve even more with Android 13. The phone also has reverse wireless charging, so you can charge other devices that support wireless charging through it. You can enable or disable this feature from the notification shade.(Update on the charging part) Today I measured that it took 55 minutes to charge from 15% to 100% with the original 45W charger from Nothing. I assume it will take 1 hour and 15 minutes to charge from 0% to 100%.
[Connectivity]
The Nothing Phone has WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, 5G, and NFC. The WiFi has satisfactory range, and if you have a WiFi 6 Access Point, you can take advantage of the speeds of a very fast internet connection. The only problem I have with the phone's connectivity is that 5G is not yet available due to limitations from mobile network providers. I have sent an email to Nothing, and I will also visit the store where I purchased it to see if something can be done. (I will provide an update if there is any news.)[Display & Fingerprint Reader]
The display has a resolution of 1080 x 2400 with 402 ppi, giving it high resolution and clarity (although it's not the highest resolution available on a mobile screen). The colors are vibrant, and thanks to OLED technology, the blacks are truly black. Also, due to the OLED display, when the phone uses Dark Theme, there is greater energy savings compared to a typical LCD screen. Additionally, the Nothing Phone's display has a 120Hz refresh rate, which gives it a very nice feeling when scrolling through websites, apps, and more. The fingerprint reader, which is under the display, is faster than I expected and faster than what I read online, although it's not the fastest under-screen fingerprint reader available on a phone. There are few instances where it hasn't read my fingerprint correctly, and that's due to poor placement of my thumb on the screen.[Sound and Microphone]
The sound is quite loud for a phone, and vocals from music or speech sound very clear. Of course, it lacks the punch that other mobile speakers have, but if someone considers that a reason not to prefer it, I understand. When the phone plays music, it uses the speaker at the bottom of the phone, in combination with the call speaker, to provide a "Stereo" feel and louder volume. The phone's microphones offer good voice clarity when speaking to someone on the phone and good sound in videos.[Photos & Videos]
The Nothing Phone doesn't fall behind in terms of videos and photos. The photos are clear, with nice colors and without extra saturation, and the videos are clear. The Optical Image Stabilization on the main camera helps a lot. Soon, I will upload photos taken with the Nothing's camera, and maybe I will also upload 1-2 test videos. The Selfie camera is also quite good and captures facial details very well. If you have good lighting, it helps a lot for the cameras to work at their best. From the camera app, you can also enable the Glyph Interface for the rear camera to shoot videos with smooth lighting at night. I haven't tried the Night Feature yet, so I won't write anything about it.[ Glyph Interface ]
I decided to make a separate section in my review just for this feature. The Glyph Interface of the Nothing Phone is its main feature that makes it stand out. It may seem useless and just a gimmick, but in reality, it has uses. One of these uses is as a "Ring Light" for the rear camera. If you are in the dark and want to shoot a video, it will be quite useful. Another use is for notifications and charging. You can see your notifications (it flashes when you receive a call or a notification) and the Glyph Interface can also show you the battery percentage when you are charging. Now, if you want to make your phone more festive, you can add a contact named "Abra" and select it in the Glyph Settings to unlock the Music Visualization Mode, where the Glyph flashes according to the music or media you are playing.[ Packaging ]
There aren't many things included in the packaging. The phone, the user manual, a sim tray ejector, and a USB Type C to Type C cable.[ Cases & Accessories ]
Any case that is not clear (transparent) makes the phone lose its purpose. Personally, I believe that if you don't like the Glyph, keep it closed or if you don't like the appearance of the phone, don't buy it. There is no point in paying for a phone that one of its main selling points is its design and then covering it up.So, this is my small review on the Nothing Phone (1). Most likely, I will have updates in the future if anything changes, and maybe occasionally I will upload a photo from its camera to help people who are interested in that.

After one month of use, I can say that it is a very good device. The battery lasts 2-3 days depending on usage and charges in about an hour. The screen is bright at 120hz and in combination with NothingOs, it is very smooth. It runs everything very fast and the cameras are definitely among the best in its price range. I highly recommend it.
