The surface of the rug is made from 100% Polyester fibers, while the base of the rug is 100% cotton. Polyester fibers are a shortened name for a synthetic, man-made polymer, which, as a specific material, is most often referred to as a type called polyethylene terephthalate (PET). 

It is therefore clear that it is resistant to all kinds of wear and especially to moisture. The cotton base of the rug is also particularly resistant to moisture. 

Thanks to the durable construction materials, this rug can be washed without fear with running water and mild cleaners, such as dish detergents. Of course, there are also special cleaners available on the market for all types of rugs that you can use without worry. Just be careful not to scrub the bottom part, which is cotton, too hard, but wash it only with water.
