Excellent choice. Even in zero temperatures, I wore it with a short-sleeved shirt underneath and I didn't feel cold at all! I don't know about the alterations I read in the reviews that occur after washing. I will prefer dry cleaning at the cleaners to be safe. I have loved it and of course, I recommend it.
It is the most expensive jacket and the worst in terms of quality that I have purchased, I regret spending my money on it. I have had it for two months, and on the second wash, the lining broke and became all balled up.
Oh come on, Nike...
You ask for 180 euros for a jacket, fine, we're talking about you. At least put a stitched logo on it, leave aside that annoying sticker which ruins the entire aesthetic of the jacket!
Anyway.
It's a very decent jacket. It's really like a portable heater even in negative temperatures, especially on the bike! It has been tested in temperatures below 0 degrees Celsius and I have never had the slightest problem. I never felt cold air hitting me. Recently, I even wore it with just a short-sleeve shirt at 5 degrees Celsius. I admit that on the bike I didn't feel the slightest bit of cold, though I had gloves and a full-face helmet on.
Of course, in these jackets it's expected, as the down feathers with which it is insulated serve this purpose. To keep you absolutely warm.
However, before you buy such a jacket, you should keep in mind that while it may be extremely efficient, it is also very impractical. They are very delicate jackets, which besides tearing very easily, you can't even comfortably put them in the washing machine. It would be better for them to be cleaned at a special dry cleaner.
I will make some comparisons with a corresponding Puffer from The North Face.
- As for size and thickness, the Medium that I wear is just right for TNF. It is slightly thinner than the Nike and the fit is simply amazing. The Nike is very wide and relatively oversized.
- The down feathers of the TNF are noticeably more, while those of the Nike can create indentations in some places, meaning you can touch it and there are no feathers in that spot. It should be noted that this does not affect the cold at all.
- The openings at the sleeves of the TNF puffer have stronger elastic and are more closed, resulting in less air passing through, while in the Nike puffer, if you don't wear gloves, a relative opening is created.
- Finally, if I'm not mistaken, all TNF puffers have internal pockets, while the Nike does not.
The comparison was made with The North Face Diablo Down.
Of course, the two jackets have a price difference of over 100 euros, so the differences are justified.
That's it for the comparison.
The hood is not adjustable, however, it sits very well on the head. The zippers are smooth and don't snag anywhere. It should be noted that the two pockets it has are amazing. Lined with thin fleece, very warm and HUGE. Without any exaggeration, in just one of the two, I have fit a phone, AirPods, keys with a lanyard, a PowerBank, a pair of gloves, a wallet, tissues, a pack of gum AND THERE WAS STILL ROOM FOR MORE.
I have had the jacket for about a year and it has absolutely no problems or any tears.
It was purchased for 180 euros.
I think 4 stars are ideal.
I hope I covered everything for you!
EDIT: I see the reviews that give 1 star to the jacket because, as they say, the feathers collected after washing.
I would kindly ask you not to pay attention to such reviews. ALL puffer jackets must be washed at a special dry cleaner. The regular washing machine we have at home unfortunately cannot meet the demands of puffer jackets. Therefore, this specific puffer is not problematic. It is an excellent jacket that requires appropriate care.
Nice in appearance. But once washed, it goes to waste. I still cry for the money I spent. A big disappointment for an expensive jacket. I do not recommend it. I'm sorry. The investment that the jacket has inside has been wasted.
Well, I'll tell you in a few words, it's worth the jacket.
As an appearance, it's simply perfect for me. The feeling when you put it on is incredible, you understand that we're talking about a poetic jacket.
What I was worried about was if it keeps me warm.
In a machine with a little rain and 10 degrees outside, with just a t-shirt inside, I didn't feel anything. I will do it again and update, I will also try it in Bulgaria at temperatures below zero.
Anyway, the jacket definitely won't make you cry for your money, it's just a really good addition to your wardrobe.
IMPORTANT FOR THE SIZE
GET IT IN WHATEVER SIZE YOU WEAR NIKE T-SHIRTS, IT WILL BE PERFECT FOR YOU.
UPDATE
Still perfect, just an extension on the left.
Don't put it in the washing machine, it's better to take it to a dry cleaner because there is a possibility of damaging it
