It is a hydrating serum with a satisfactory percentage of retinol for those who want to introduce their skin to this ingredient. It has a gel texture and is fragrance-free (like most CeraVe products), which I really like, but it does take away that nice feeling that many people enjoy due to a pleasant scent. It absorbs very well and did not cause any issues when I applied it to the outer eye area. However, it should be noted that my skin (combination) easily accepts most products without ever experiencing sensitivity. Now that winter is approaching, I use the cicaplast from La Roche-Posay as a moisturizer after using the serum. It is expected that if you use it for the first time, you may experience even mild dryness after using a good moisturizer due to the action of retinol. Of course, the next day we use sunscreen and always, always especially with products containing active ingredients (retinol, vitamin C, salicylic acid, etc.), we test the product on the inside of our wrist to make sure it will not cause a mild or severe reaction on our skin.
It did not cause me irritation, and I use it daily, but it has absolutely no effect. Two months of daily use and I haven't seen the slightest change. Neither in the texture of my skin, nor in the spots I have, in nothing. To the point that I doubt if the so many good reviews are real.

I went for a skin analysis with a dermatologist, and when I said that I use retinol at 25, she "scolded" me, especially when I mentioned that I use this specific one. After the results of the analysis, we found that I have developed red spots and it has worsened my rosacea.
I won't tell you to take it or not, just for those of you starting skincare like me, DO NOT trust TikTok. Pay €40 to a dermatologist to guide you properly based on your skin type about what exactly you need. I was stingy about giving that €40, and now I don't know how much money I will have to spend to get my face back to normal. BE CAREFUL with the products you use.
Very good product for beginners. I think it is good for use 1-2 months before someone moves on to a product with higher concentration or for people who cannot tolerate something stronger due to very high sensitivity.

Very nice retinol, my face is more radiant, pimples disappear more easily and it removes the marks from them. It's definitely worth it, I buy it again and again!
I got it to start with. With the pimples, it seems to be doing the job. They haven't completely disappeared but it has done the job because within a week I saw that they started to retreat while already a month that I was waiting for them to go away on their own they were still there.
I'm not sure if it has helped much with the pores. I have large pores, to tell you the truth, and it has only been 3 weeks since I started using it. I think it takes a little patience to see results there.
Personally, it did not cause irritation to me, but I strictly use it at least 30 minutes after washing my face and 20 minutes later I apply moisturizer and the next day if I go out in the morning I apply sunscreen. And for now, every 3 days until my skin gets used to it.
Perfect retinol doesn't dry out my skin and is odorless, also I noticed a difference in my skin.. I mainly use it at night and during the winter months, and in the morning vitamin C and anti-aging products work wonders
My skin is mature fair, atopic with eczema outbreaks. No problem even on the neck and décolleté! It has definitely contributed to the good condition of my skin even though I am not very consistent :) It is my first retinol so there is no comparison measure. Cerave does not indicate the percentage. Dr. Dray has detailed videos on YouTube if you are interested in skin tolerance to the serum.
Very good retinol for people with acne scars. After 2-3 months of intensive use every night in combination with a cleanser, moisturizer, and ALWAYS sunscreen, I saw noticeable results. However, it would be good for those who started with this little bottle to move on to 1% retinol from The Ordinary, as the skin can now tolerate a higher amount of the active ingredient, in order to see even better results.
I am going to buy the second bottle. I like that it absorbs quickly into my skin compared to retinol from another company. The next day I have baby soft skin, smooth and most importantly for me, it doesn't irritate the skin at all (I have relatively sensitive and oily skin)

For a beginner in using retinol, it is ideal as it has the lowest percentage of active retinol. For ideal use, apply it at night and the next day sunscreen is necessary!
It did not cause any disturbance to my skin at the beginning of application (the so-called purging). However, if you have very sensitive skin, easily avoid irritation with a little moisturizer (a quantity smaller than a pea) before and after applying this serum (also requires a small amount).
I have been using it for 3 weeks now! I don't have many pimples unless I have a bad diet, so I didn't have a specific issue to see a difference there! I mainly got it to start with retinol and see how my skin reacts (combination/oily in the T-zone). So far, I have noticed a great change in the brightness and freshness of my skin, radiance, and the small wrinkles on my forehead have subtly softened. From the beginning, I used it daily at night, without any issues, of course always with sunscreen in the morning & in general I have a very simple morning routine (cleansing, hyaluronic acid, day cream with SPF) as well as an evening one (cleansing, niacinamide, this specific retinol, and a simple moisturizer for the night). Also, since I started using it, my skin accepts makeup better! I am satisfied and maybe I won't even go for something heavier when it's finished, most likely I will continue with this one!
The best thing ever!! I can see the difference before and after (after 2 weeks). I am 25 and I had redness and some pimples on my face, possibly from delayed acne, as I never had it as a teenager. After 2 weeks, the redness is fading away and I haven't had any new pimples. Makeup is a thing of the past, I am happy to see my skin natural and bare, without anything to hide.
The only thing I used during this period was this product combined with a moisturizer to keep my face hydrated. I recommend doing the same because in the first 2-3 applications when I used only this product without anything else, I noticed slight peeling and dehydrated-dry skin in some areas. So definitely combine it with a moisturizer. I apply it only at night before going to bed, wait for 1-2 minutes for it to fully absorb, and then apply the moisturizer. The texture is gel-like and white, not cream, so it feels perfect and absorbs quickly. Day by day, you won't believe that such an affordable product can give you such amazing skin.
As a beginner in using retinol, I chose this particular one to start with. I have oily, acne-prone skin with tendency for pimples on the chin, this product helped me incredibly and within 2 weeks with the marks and texture of the skin. I use it with the sandwich method, meaning cerave cream-retinol-cerave cream. It never caused irritation and over time I increased its use
I found it hard to trust this company again, but for starting retinol, I believe it's a good choice. I apply it every Sunday and I already see a little peeling without irritation on my skin and a glow. I will evaluate it in about 3 months to have a more complete picture!
Update: I am updating after more than 3 months, unfortunately, it caused me internal cysts that were painful. I stopped it and calmed down.
After at least one month of use, I didn't see any difference. On the contrary, I got more pimples. With The Ordinary's retinol, I saw better results. It didn't work for me, but it's still worth a try. It feels light and has a scent (like plastic) compared to other Cerave products, which surprised me
Very lightweight and effective serum. The overall appearance of the face has definitely improved, the pores have definitely shrunk, and some lines have slightly softened. As a first encounter with retinol, it is definitely very good.

I have sensitive combination to dry skin and I am over 30. I don't have any particular acne issues. After a month of continuous use, I noticed that redness and marks were almost disappearing, also the pores have become smaller and the fine lines around the nose and mouth have softened. Very good serum for those with sensitive skin or starting retinol. It has no fragrance and is nourishing as it contains ceramides. I have oily skin and it doesn't feel heavy at all. For me, who has tolerant skin, the amount of retinol is too little, so I go for more, but for someone starting out, it is very good.

It looks good. It absorbs easily and didn't irritate me. If you're starting retinol now, it's better to start gradually. First week once, second week twice, and so on. I personally use it every other day.
