It was placed on my wife's car dashboard. It is very stable. It can be used without an external (thick) case. It doesn't make any noise. It holds the phone in potholes. I noticed that if you don't put the sunshade on the windshield, it falls due to excessive heat.

So, in order to avoid any suction cup falling issue, for any product that has a suction cup, the precaution is to protect it from the sun.

1) It holds well on a dashboard with a classic textured surface.
2) Even without opening the extension, the entire arm moves quite a bit. On a bumpy road, it will sound like a bell.
3) If you turn the phone sideways, it doesn't stay in the base. It's logical to think that according to the way the clamp works... but I'm sure the mechanism could be better.

Unfortunately, it doesn't stick to the dashboard at all. It sticks to the windshield, but I didn't buy it for that. Months later, it hasn't come off the windshield, it's stable, elegant, and beautiful. It works perfectly, so I'm changing the one star I had given it. Maybe the manufacturers should advertise it for the windshield (where it's perfect) and not for the dashboard
