  Excellent for their price.
  I chose them because of their convenient size, as I have very limited space.
  I mainly use them for recording guitar/bass and fortunately they do not color the sound of the instrument.
  With my old sound card (Lexicon Alpha) they emitted a low hum. With the new one (SSL 2) the hum has been significantly reduced, but it still exists.

  Very good in terms of build quality, average to good in performance, and their main characteristic (as with many studio monitors) is that if they are connected directly to an audio device, they produce a buzz, not annoying but noticeable mainly at low volumes. Using a good sound card (not onboard), the buzz is significantly reduced.... (perhaps it is also reduced with the use of a DI.... I did not try it with a DI). The stated WATTS are definitely not true. (The actual wattage should be lower by a double-digit number). Many unnecessary and impractical sound adjustments (exaggeration by the manufacturer). The rubber pads (adhesive pads placed on their base) are very makeshift and negatively affect the sound result, but the problem can be solved by using other materials.... (e.g. a piece of foam exercise material from a gym.... or ready-made thicker and harder furniture caps made of colors - iron). Overall, they are acceptable (taking into account the aforementioned observations). Finally, all of the above are my personal assessment according to my own personal data, according to my music, artistic, and ELECTROACOUSTIC EXPERIENCE, and obviously in my ears.... (it is very likely that another listener... may not perceive the somewhat annoying buzz that bothers me)!

  The most convenient speakers in 5'' monitor dimensions fit in my small office without ANY (I emphasize) compromise in sound.

  1. Front bass reflex port. This way, there is no need for rear distance for it to "breathe" and I save space on my desk.
  2. Multiple placement settings.
  3. AB bi-amplification.
  4. Protected tweeter.
  5. RCA and balanced.

  TIPS:
  After acquiring them, visit the nearest hardware store - knobs - curtain rods. Give 2 euros and buy 8 elastic (soft) black round bases, at least one centimeter in height (the ones placed under cabinets). Stick them under the speakers in the four corners. Spectacular visual and mainly audio improvement!

  First of all, I use monitors for both my recordings/productions and for listening to music for 15 years now. I acquired these particular ones a few months ago and I also use them to create sounds on my modelers (I need to make sure that what I hear is what the modeler produces, as uncolored as possible).

  Due to space limitations (12-15 square meters untreated room), it didn't make sense for me to go for anything larger than 5". Also, for small spaces where someone might even mount them on the wall, it is considered an advantage that they are front-ported.

  They are quite small compared to the 5" monitors that were available 10-15 years ago (for example, the corresponding Tascam ones come to mind), but don't worry, this is actually good, especially for small spaces they are intended for.

  They have several adjustments to fine-tune their sound in your room. In my case, I only needed to reduce the bass by -2dB (acoustic space), given that I have them relatively close to the wall (12-18 centimeters). The input gain was set to maximum since I control the volume from the sound card. The MID and HIGH frequencies remained unchanged, as well as the Low Cutoff.

  They are loud, clear, with excellent stereo imaging and note/sound separation. The bass is more than enough and it is exactly what it should be (sorry, but if someone wants more, they should stop looking for studio monitors and go for either HiFi category or a configuration with a subwoofer, etc.). Personally, I find them well-balanced without emphasizing too much on the mids (this doesn't mean they are buried, they are there, you can hear them) or the highs (same, they are there, you can hear them), unlike the Yamaha HS5 and slightly less so the JBL 305, but it also depends on what you want to mix, mostly. So, to avoid any misunderstanding, no, I don't mean that the Eris monitors are "better". If someone's music requires extra emphasis and precision in the mids/highs, I would probably recommend the last two. As I mentioned, according to my criteria, the Eris monitors sound more balanced to me, maybe with a slightly stronger emphasis on the bass frequencies (so again, be careful if they are suitable for your use). And obviously, we listen to our mixes/productions through as many mediums as possible, the bare minimum being studio monitors and studio headphones (if someone can also test them on multiple sources, even better).

  I want to clarify that the overwhelming majority of my recordings/productions involve guitars AND bass in Standard D tuning (a whole tone lower), and even there, there is absolutely no issue.

  I like these monitors so much that I bought another pair for my living room, just to listen to music that has been programmed.

  Regarding the noise complaints, in my case, it purely depends on the room. By default, they don't have any hiss, even when turned up to the maximum and not playing anything. However, it has happened that one of the two speakers had a slight hiss in a different room, so it's not the speakers' fault (power line, interference, cables, etc.). And of course, we prefer to connect them to the source through the balanced inputs (TRS, XLR).

  Finally, the manual contains all the necessary information on how to connect it (not that it's nuclear physics) but also the most important thing, what each setting does, how they can be positioned, etc. BTW, Presonus mentions that these can also be placed horizontally (lying down, with the woofers inside, the tweeters outside), which I tried and also liked as a result.

  Honestly, I was trying to find a reason to deduct at least one star, but I couldn't find one. At this price and with this performance, for someone who is actually looking for a front-ported nearfield studio monitor, it's a one-way street.

  P.S.: There are many good comparisons between different monitor models on YouTube for the majority who can't listen to different models side by side. Obviously, in order to listen to them and draw basic conclusions (which each monitor emphasizes, etc.), these comparisons should be listened to with at least decent monitors or studio headphones (the flatter, the better) and definitely not from HiFi speakers, computer speakers, laptop speakers, TV, etc.

  EDIT 2022: After 2 years of mild use, one lost 25% of its volume while the other became scratchy at specific frequencies (clean electric guitar). They were sent for RMA and returned to the store from which they were purchased (Germany) within the warranty. Of course, they didn't find any problem, so they were returned in worse condition than before. One was playing only from the tweeter and very low, while the other had the initial problems with specific frequencies. Maybe I was just unlucky, but it's disappointing to have spent over 10 years with the corresponding 5" TASCAM without any issues and have these just fail on me like that. In short, I sent them to a technician in case they don't end up being recycled, got a pair of Kali Audio LP6 v2, and that's the end of the story with them.

  The only negative thing I find is that they don't have a separate volume control. Also, in silence, I hear a subtle noise, maybe from the built-in amplifier. I was torn between these and the KRK 5 G3, but I'm ultimately happy that I chose these. Of course, it's better to use them with XLR rather than RCA. They have plenty of adjustments, but I prefer the flat setting for obvious reasons. However, they could be a bit cheaper in price because they have been on the market for a while. The next budget speaker I would choose is the Adam T5.
