Built TUF

The TUF Gaming Radeon™ RX 6950 XT is a tenacious beast with a tough metal exterior, highly efficient cooling and components that offer increased durability.

A full metal cover houses three powerful axial fans with dual fan bearings and extra blades.

Under the exoskeleton, a heat sink keeps heat under tight control and TUF components, selected for maximum durability and performance, keep the card ahead of the crowd.

Bigger, better cooling

In this generation, the design of Axial-tech fans has matured with an increased number of blades on all three fans: 13 on the main fan and 11 on the auxiliary fans.

The barrier rings on the side fans have been shrunk to allow for greater lateral intake and provide better airflow through the cooling array.

The additional center fan blades and full-height ring provide enhanced static pressure to expel air directly into the GPU heat spreader.

The fan design development is specifically optimized for a huge new heatsink that features more blades and surface area than previous versions.

To enhance the specialised roles of the main and auxiliary fans, the direction of rotation of the main fan is reversed. This reduces air turbulence inside the cooling array to further enhance overall thermal efficiency.

The fans will also only start spinning when the GPU temperature reaches 60 degrees Celsius and will turn off when temperatures drop below 55 degrees Celsius, helping to reduce noise when the system is idling or under light load.

Maxcontact

To remove heat from the core and channel it into the heat sink array, we used MaxContact technology to polish the surface of the heat spreader and improve the smoothness at the microscopic level. The extra flatness allows for better contact with the card for improved thermal transfer.

2.9 socket design

The heat sink draws heat into heat pipes that transfer it through a stack of fins that fills most of the card's large, 2.9-slot footprint.

TUF accessories

For the power design of the card, durable military grade capacitors were selected. These and other components are soldered to the PCB using the Auto-Extreme automated manufacturing process.

Precise joints and elimination of human error ensure that each graphics card meets strict specifications. To ensure flawless performance when it counts, the cards undergo an exhaustive 144-hour validation test.

Metallic coating

A machined aluminium casing creates a robust outer shell, while the industrial design and grey shade blend into any construction with ease.

Armoured bottom

The underside of the card reveals further improvements. Most of the back side is covered by a protective metal backing, which obviously has a wide air vent.

The vent allows hot air to escape to the chassis exhaust fans instead of being recirculated back to the heatsink.

A GPU bracket provides additional stability to the critical connection between the die and the heat diffuser. Stainless steel is used for the I/O bracket to protect the ports and provide a more secure mounting. And a conveniently placed Dual Bios switch allows for customization of the card's default performance profile without software.

Functional facade

The RGB on the front panel can be customized to display a range of aesthetic and functional effects, and can also be synced with other ASUS components to allow for uniform lighting.

To meet the power requirements of the Radeon RX 6950 XT, there are two 8-pin power connectors, along with built-in LEDs that light up if the PCIe PSU power connectors are not properly connected.

The structural pillars of an integrated reinforced metal chassis are also visible here and literally add a layer of durability.

GPU Tweak II

The ASUS GPU Tweak II utility takes your graphics card setup to the next level. It allows you to adjust critical parameters such as GPU core clocks, memory frequency, and voltage settings with the ability to monitor in real-time via a customizable display.

Advanced fan control is also included, as well as many other features to help you get the most out of your graphics card.

Bought it for 600 euros 3 months ago, just before it sold out in all stores. I was lucky, coming from a 1070 rog strix there is no comparison and the performance is day and night. 4k upscaling because I don't have a monitor that supports native resolution and it plays all the latest titles at 60 fps, all on ultra settings. Because I want to fully utilize it, I run it with a +20% power limit, 2350MHz vram clock with fast timing, minimum and maximum clock at 2590 and 2690MHz respectively, and all of this with an undervolt at 1110mV instead of 1200. The watts it consumes at full load 100% (in an extreme and unrealistic stress test scenario) are about 330-340 with my settings. The temperatures with vsync on, after 3 hours of gaming, range from 60 to 62 on the core and 70-75 on the junction, depending on the workload that needs to be produced on the graphics. Without a frame limiter, it goes up to 65 and 85-88 respectively. Room temperature is at 22 degrees. I have relatively good airflow in my case. With the 7800x3d and SAM, it performs exceptionally well. My motherboard is the ASUS TUF B650M plus wifi. It has a discreet RGB LED on the TUF logo and is all black, along with the motherboard, for a minimalistic build. The only negative thing that doesn't bother me much is the mild coil whine that it still has even after changing to a new 850w gold power supply. Very good value for money if you consider that for an equally good implementation in Nvidia, you would have to spend 850+ euros on a 4070ti.

In general, good card but the drivers cause stuttering in Elden Ring and BFV, which I am interested in, so unfortunately Nvidia is the only solution. Also, there is a lot of coil whine that is quite audible and very annoying in a silent PC with full water cooling!

    Verified purchase

Although I'm not a hardcore gamer, I can say that I am very satisfied. It plays everything usually on ultra settings at 60 fps, which is what I need due to my monitor. The raytracing performance is bad, but personally, I find it unworthy of comment - the visual differences are minimal and even the statistics show that very few gamers (~10%) activate raytracing in games simply because it is somewhat useless at the present stage. The value for money alone compared to anything from Nvidia is enough for me to choose it.
