The sculpture depicts a cat waving, standing upright, with one of its front paws raised. The lucky cat Maneki Neko is usually found at the entrance of shops, restaurants, and other workplaces. 

This cat usually raises its left front paw and invites people to come in, holding an ancient Japanese coin, the Koban, with its right front paw. The lucky cat Maneki Neko wears a necklace with a bell, which is believed to ward off evil spirits.
