Gigaset presents the cordless phone Comfort 550, which is comfortable to use, full of features, with a large screen, user-friendly keyboard, and adapts to any environment.
The large high-contrast TFT color display (44 x 35 mm, 176 x 220 pixels) offers everything you would expect from a modern cordless phone: graphics and fonts that ensure maximum readability, a variety of colors and symbols for menu operation, and a Jumbo function that allows the display of large numbers during a call.
The Gigaset COMFORT 550 features large keys with easy-to-read characters, as well as a backlit keyboard. It also offers missed call or notification alerts with the message key lighting up, incoming call alerts with green lighting of the call key, activated hands-free mode with steady green lighting of the call key, a central 5-way navigation key, speed dial keys (0,2-9), keypad lock, direct call function of a programmable number in locked keypad mode, a microphone mute key, and a ringer sound deactivation key.
Call protection shields you from advertising calls or dangerous phone scams. You can easily block up to 150 phone numbers. Unwanted numbers can be stored in the phone's relevant blacklist. You can also block or mute anonymous callers. Additionally, you can specify the time periods during which your phone should or should not ring. You can mark certain callers as VIP so that you can receive their calls at any time. Finally, you can allow incoming calls only from your contacts.
The Gigaset COMFORT 550 incorporates a "Room Monitoring" function, which can notify by calling another internal cordless handset or an external landline or mobile phone about the presence of noise, talking, crying, etc. If the function is activated and any of the above occurs, the COMFORT 550 automatically calls a predefined number or internal cordless phone, and when the call is answered, a conversation can take place. After the call ends, the "Room Monitoring" function remains activated.

Almost perfect for simple home use plus! It has a reasonable price for the features it offers (some of which may be indifferent to the average user). The call quality is just fine. It also supports Greek in menus and contact names (because some claim otherwise). The only thing that bothers me is that it doesn't allow more than 16 characters per field (First Name and Last Name), but I don't think that's enough to take away a star. In my opinion, the only reason to choose something else is if one is simply looking for the simplest and cheapest option.
Nice phone, the only thing I haven't understood is why when it's charging and someone calls, as soon as I pick it up, it answers by itself. I mean, as soon as I lift it from its base! I haven't looked to see if this feature can be disabled, but it's annoying.
Coming from a slightly cheaper Panasonic. It's worth the little extra because in relation to what you pay, you get a lot more. Its sound is bell-like, it turns off when you're away from the office to save battery, and it's very user-friendly. I recommend it 100%

We bought it because our new Panasonic turned out to be a wreck. For now, everything is fine. It has many functions and stays charged for several days. We preferred it mainly for call blocking and speakerphone, but it also has additional features such as a calendar, alarm clock, eco mode, mute when someone calls, setting hours so it doesn't ring when you want peace, and the button with the envelope flashes when you have missed calls, etc.
