The diverter valve's primary function is the automatic diversion of hot water coming from the solar water heater directly to the hot water usage or to the secondary heating source. The diverter valve operates automatically thanks to the thermostatic mechanism and guided by the pre-set diversion temperature (45°C). If the temperature of the water coming from the solar water heater is higher than the valve's diversion temperature (> 45°C), then the water is diverted towards consumption; conversely, if the water temperature is lower (< 45°C), then the water is diverted to the secondary heating source for reheating, and then towards consumption. The diverter valve is equipped with an innovative LCD-type temperature sensor, which, based on its color indication, can easily show if the secondary heat source is operating and consuming energy. The LCD temperature sensor is set to change color at the valve's diversion temperature, allowing the color to correspond with the heat source. When the diversion is directly towards usage, the sensor shows a green indication, while when the diversion is towards the alternative heat source, it shows a red indication.
