    I have placed it on a THINKPAD docking station to get extra USB 3 ports. I have added two cables on top of it, and it works perfectly. This issue with the short cable length for connection seems to be everywhere, and I don't understand why!

    The cable length is short, as it's intended to be on your desk, so it's not good if your desktop is on the floor, like my PC.

    However, for new Macs that only have USB C ports (and are obviously on your desk), this helps to convert one port into the classic port for sticks, charging cables, and other peripherals. Can be users for Macbooks as well.

    Minor issue is that the light on the top is constantly on and can be annoying, but not enough to lose a star.
