Note: I am also an owner of the Oppo A94 5G, which is identical in specs to the Reno5 Z.
One year after purchase, the processor and 8GB RAM still provide a smooth experience without any lag. In basic use (calls, messages, navigation, email, social media, etc.), you have what you need on your screen when you need it. I haven't delved into gaming much, so I don't have any comments on that. Unfortunately, 5G doesn't seem to work with my Cosmote provider, although it appeared as an option after a couple of updates. The audio quality is satisfactory and my callers don't seem to have trouble understanding me. The speaker is mono and nothing special in terms of sound quality, but it's comfortable for open listening.
The fingerprint sensor is on the screen and while it's not the fastest, it's responsive enough to not be frustrating. There is also a face recognition option, although I read that it's not very secure on devices that don't support true 3D scanning.
I would have liked the battery to be a little bigger. Eight hours of continuous use (I use it at work) drains the battery. With moderate use, it easily lasts a day, and fast charging ensures that you have a full battery in an hour at most.
The AMOLED display is bright and readable. Personally, I don't see the point of a refresh rate higher than 60Hz unless someone is heavily into gaming and videos... unless they enjoy smoothly scrolling menus or absolutely need to see 30fps videos on Instagram's 120Hz screen - everyone has their own preferences. In all conditions (except direct sunlight on the screen), you can see and read everything.
The camera is decent for its price. The main wide-angle lens provides nice colors and contrast. On the other hand, the ultra-wide, macro, and selfie lenses produce slightly dull and washed-out results. The macro lens, in particular, has never been useful to me (with its minimum focusing distance of 4 cm from the object, you can't really photograph the dewdrop on a fly's head). I have limited experience with video. The only thing I can note is that the digital stabilization seems to work satisfactorily. One last detail about the wide-angle lens: I don't know exactly what the supposed 48MP mode is for - as it captures higher resolution photos (in terms of pure numbers), but if you zoom in, it delivers the same (or maybe even worse) detail in the textures of objects compared to the same frame in non-48MP mode.
The operating system (ColorOS) seemed lightweight and free of bloatware to me. I didn't find any particularly unnecessary or excessive pieces of software, nor did I encounter ads or annoying notifications in pre-installed apps. Only recently, in a very recent update, a small app called "Theme market" popped up out of nowhere. To my pleasant surprise, I found that I could not only disable it but also fully uninstall it to avoid any annoyance (at least until the next upgrade). The user interface has suited me perfectly and seems rather simple and user-friendly.
Conclusion: In my opinion, the OPPO Reno 5Z 5G/A94 5G is a solid mid-range smartphone with specs that make sense for its price (considering it's still under 300 euros). It does everything well to quite well without any complaints. I do not recommend it to someone who will use it daily due to its 4310 mAh battery, nor to someone who thinks they are paying for 5G, as compatibility with Greek networks seems to be problematic or non-existent.
I have the Oppo A94 5G and I noticed on Telegram that it recognizes it as Oppo Reno 5 Z 5G. It's a great phone for its price, however, Oppo's software upgrade policy makes it a bad choice
