The first outer layer is made of high-strength material that is not torn by the dog's nails while at the same time trapping moisture in the 2nd and 3rd layer, which consists of active polymers. The active polymers have the ability to absorb 3 times their volume (unlike cotton which absorbs only once) while simultaneously channeling moisture throughout the surface of the diaper.
