Non-stick Griddle Plate for PHILIPS HD4440 and ROHNSON R-230, R-234.
Specifications are collected from official manufacturer websites. Please verify the specifications before proceeding with your final purchase. If you notice any problem you can report it here.
We had it for almost a decade with daily use (and maybe more than 2 times a day).
Very good toaster-grill. We didn't have the problems I read about. The only issue is that it is big and if you don't have enough space, you have to come up with solutions for storage, but the positive thing is that it can be stored upright.
This is the descendant of the Rohnson R-230 that I had and "died" just this year, 16 years later!!! If the Rohnson R-234 is of similar quality... honestly, do you want me to tell you if it's worth it or not? If you take care of cleaning its plates, then you will have an excellent toaster, which will reliably grill souvlaki, burgers, etc. My personal experience with Rohnson is absolutely positive!!!
Update 25/07/2020: Well, I bought the toaster and I can say that it is as I expected and described above. Personally, I declare satisfied with the purchase!
After 4 years of intensive use (e.g. 5 times a week), it gave up. Possibly some insulation or the resistor.
Overall, I am satisfied. It heats up quickly, toasts quickly, and makes them crispy. It required some experimentation to achieve the desired result, but that is probably reasonable.
A few times, I tried grilling meat (pork and beef steaks, sausages) and cheese (e.g. halloumi). It grilled well as a result, but then it required intensive cleaning.
Overall, it consumes a lot of electricity, it needs to be plugged in alone, otherwise it is likely to trip the circuit breaker/relay.
The switch is the most feared part, it looks a bit "fake".
It fits 6 sandwiches! The plates clean very easily. Very good quality of construction. Made in Greece! I have had it for 3 years!
It is a pretty good toaster, it toasts quickly and evenly. The problem is that when you go to close the lid, you have to hold the toast because the top slice moves. If you use the hinge, it gets stuck in the upper position and there is a distance from the top slice of the toast. Other than that, everything is fine!
Very very good. I had the same one for 4 years and. out of my clumsiness, I broke it and of course, I bought the same one
Very BAD toaster. I cry for the 50 euros I spent. The top part is very heavy and makes the toast very thin. It doesn't cook evenly at all. I endured it for 6 months and then bought another one. Never buy it
Yes, it toasts the sandwiches just fine. It is true that it generally toasts well. BUT! What's the point when the plates fall off and you burn yourself trying to put them back in place? I've had it for three years and I regret spending my money on an expensive toaster.
After 3-4 years of use, today it completely broke down, it doesn't heat up, the internal metals have changed shape due to rusting, the construction is not of good quality, does it randomly say "made in Greece"?
Great toaster overall..
As mine after 5 months has an issue with the plates.
The top plate falls off its position, so I have to pick it up with a kitchen glove.
Edit: Two years later..
I want to tell my friends who are facing the issue with the plates falling off their position, that it can be fixed by tightening the "ears" that hold the plates every 3 months or so (I personally do it with a pair of pliers). I learned this from the technician who serviced it...
Other than that, it's good, but if I had kids (or if we were in America), I would sue the company.
Choose another one, there's no reason not to.
Very good for its price, it has served me well for the past 3 months. I have grilled dozens of sandwiches, sausages, and kebabs. It is definitely worth it and more
After two years of use, the resistors broke, maybe it was just bad luck. It has a good sturdy construction where it opens 180 degrees and you can grill souvlaki, etc. It is for 2+ sandwiches as if you put one, it presses it too much
I have had it for about 3 months and I am satisfied. It has grilled satisfactory souvlaki, burgers, and of course toast. Cleaning is very easy. Nothing has stuck to the plates. For cheese and grease, once it cools down, kitchen paper and that's it. Additionally, a gentle wipe with dish soap and the plates are like new again.
Very good toaster, lasted 5 years with frequent use but the cables melted. It toasts very nicely
Cons: The non-stick plates, however, after a while, you start to eat the non-stick coating, and it's not the best for your body... Pros: With 2000 watts, the plates heat up very quickly.
The plates are indeed non-stick, they clean very easily. It heats up quickly and evenly top-bottom (the previous one of another brand had a stronger bottom plate). The temperature selector is vague like in all toasters of this category. Because it has a slope in the front to drain the fats and a heavy "lid" when I put 1 or 2 sandwiches only, they become very thin and usually one slice slides on top of the other.
Strong and easy to clean with nice grilling

After 5 years, I bought another Rohnson. A great toaster. It says it can fit 4 sandwiches, but it can actually fit 6.
Perfect and Greek!!!!!!!! It grills excellently and quickly up to 6 sandwiches.
