Excellent screen, bright, comfortable with very good colors and quality construction. Ideal as a versatile screen for work, movies, and games. It does everything and very satisfactorily.
-update March 7, 2024: The latest drivers added KVM functionality, meaning using the screen from two computers simultaneously but with one keyboard/mouse.
Used for mixed office and XBOX Series X use.
In simple office work, no particular comments, as the requirements are specific.
But in gaming, really, the whole experience changes. One of the best choices available for use on XBOX.
It's just perfect. Correct IPS panel colors with 144hz, you can comfortably edit (weddings, etc.) while playing your Call of Duty. The only negative thing I would say is that it "forced" me to spend another 2k for new hardware even though I had a 5800x3d and RTX3070 because the fps weren't enough.
Excellent screen (it's a Dell after all) with very nice colors right out of the box. I also did the firmware update and it improved even more. It's worth its money.
The screen is one of the best 4K screens, if not the best, for its price.
Positives:
- Exceptional image and very good colors, with a significant difference compared to the LG IPS display (2K) I had before.
- Very good response time for gamers, ideal in the fast setting as it seems from rtings that the higher settings do not offer anything significant.
- Very good viewing angle, even when lying down or watching series from an angle, there is almost no difference for my taste.
- Very clear and sharp text.
- It does not tire my eyes almost at all even after many hours of use.
Negatives:
- Mediocre to poor HDR with the stock firmware, which is significantly improved with the latest firmware.
- The menu could be more user-friendly and compact and not so chaotic, although the Dell Display Manager solves the problem.
- It is not GSync compatible or certified by Nvidia, although GSync plays normally and without problems as it seems.
Overall, its size is perfect for developers and gamers, although it takes a little getting used to from the traditional 24''/27''. Personally, I am absolutely satisfied with the screen.
The screen is amazing. Perfect for any use. The best one I have encountered for both personal use and in a workspace.
It's comfortable for coding/office/browsing with the text being extremely clear at 125% scaling. At 100% scaling, you need pilot vision, while at 150% scaling, which is the default for Windows for 4K resolution, you lose a lot of workspace. I think 125% is the most balanced for most people.
Color accuracy and plenty of space for video/photo editing.
I'm not a gamer, but when I tried it out of curiosity, it was satisfying and its specs are top of the line in its category (144Hz, 1ms response).
I haven't tried HDR yet, but supposedly it's mediocre to bad, but it has improved after the latest firmware upgrade.
I have been using it for about two weeks now for both professional use and gaming. Initially, the port selection is relatively limited with 2 HDMI and 1 DisplayPort, while there is no Type-C port. A positive is that all the cables provided make the most of the monitor.
One issue I had with gaming was its HDR, which fortunately improved significantly with the latest firmware update from the company. The Dell Display Manager is also very convenient for management via PC. The menu is a bit chaotic and takes time to get used to, while the adjustable shortcut buttons often did not work correctly.
In terms of work, it is excellent, with very well-adjusted colors out of the box and very good viewing angles. Those transitioning from something smaller like me will need time to get used to the size.
