Stay away from this machine... In the first year with moderate, sparse use it started to malfunction... I used to own a similar product (from a multinational company) that we usually make fun of... It lasted 3 years of heavy use... And the machine
Absolutely satisfied. I had to buy it when my old Demel-3000 was stolen, which I had for many years. Its case is also nice and very convenient.
UPDATE (5/3/2024): Making occasional use (some weekends), it suddenly stopped working when I was drilling plastic water bottles! Obviously, no (quality) comparison to the older Dremel models. I have sent it to the service center for repair/replacement since it is still under warranty, and I am waiting for updates...
Not a quality construction, unacceptable for the name. With very minimal and simple use, it quickly developed a problem.
It definitely does not live up to its price, the extension for delicate work broke its wire, while the chuck that you press to change the front tool broke within a year, just like the wire. I am not a professional, it is used for amateur use in small constructions and repairs.
I am giving 1 star because it is not possible to extend the manufacturer's warranty by 1 year in our country
My old Dremel 3000 suddenly stopped working while I was using it. I couldn't fix it (probably an electronic issue) so I bought the exact same model. I chose the basic package since I already had all the other accessories (case, attachments, etc.) from the previous one. The price was very interesting and it works great.
2 broken so far. One due to a burnt wire of the motor winding. The first one lasted 5 years, the second one lasted 3. Casual use. The cost of repair is almost half the price of a new one. Never again Dremel. There are plenty of similar ones for almost half the price.
I bought it thinking that it is a brand tool and I ended up concluding that it is unacceptable for such a tool to be on the market, especially at its price... With very minimal use, it caused a problem with the head's stop switch, resulting in me not being able to loosen it. After half a year, I sent it back and they fixed it for me because I still had a warranty. Then, after minimal use again, it experienced the exact same issue and I decided to simply throw it away.
Very low quality. The company's accessories are very good, but the tool is not reliable at all. It heats up quickly and does not maintain a steady speed. The same problem was present in the larger model. Something is definitely not right.
I bought it because it was a brand, but as it turned out, it's far from good... It hasn't worked almost at all and it broke... at a point where it's relatively easy to fix it, but why bother going through that process... The stator is broken. It has four little legs that connect the winding wires and they break there... I believe it's because the wires are thin and they heat up and get cut...
Simply unacceptable. Bought it years ago and it has worked very little. The cables on the rotor were cut
The switch stopped working without any apparent reason. I only used it for amateur purposes and very rarely. It was like new, however, after searching online, I found out that this model often presents this defect. The worst part is that it cannot be repaired. It's a shame because otherwise, it is of good quality.
After many years and minimal use, it stopped working. I didn't understand why it happened. I even opened it to see inside and everything looked fine visually. I have several tools and I use them heavily as a hobbyist. But I had treated this one with great care. And it let me down.
After 1 use, it stopped working.
I replaced it within 1 week with the warranty and the second one stopped working after 2-3 uses.
Tragic, since they are defective, why don't they stop production?
Stay away...
After simple amateur use, it simply broke. The speed control switch has malfunction. Some friends have something similar and they endure, but I paid for it and it simply stopped working. It won't go forward again... I will buy again, but probably something simple that can be thrown away if it breaks. Don't listen to the brand and stupid stuff, it's just junk... I am disappointed with my purchase... I have had it for a year and a half with simple amateur use and it just stopped.
I have it for about 1 year+, I use it occasionally, I can say that it withstands hardships because I have worked with it continuously for several hours. It definitely doesn't work for irons, etc., because it doesn't have that much power, but for simple use with aluminum (thin), wood, etc., it's fine.
So far, I have had it for 2 months and it is very good for the work I do. Fast, easy application of the heads as well as their removal. Now, if someone wants something more serious in terms of other stronger jobs, it's not that it won't do its job, but I would prefer something higher and even better. However, it is good for small tasks, etc.
Very bad today the processing ... I have it for 2 years and without much work, only for simple needs. Today it burned the rotor, cut a wire, constantly buzzed and I read on the internet all the problems with switches and others. .. add to that it died as well.
The machine, although very good in all its uses, after 1 year of amateur work, (total of about 2 hours of use per month) started to malfunction the switch. At first, where it was working, the speed changed without me changing it. Later, it stopped opening from the switch so it never worked again.
I use it for professional use and it is excellent. I would like a slightly quieter motor. The flexible attachment is very helpful. I would prefer it to have a hanger so that I don't have to use clamps. The chuck is necessary to attach whatever you want and not need the expensive Dremel attachments.
*24/8/2017 After ten months, the speed switch is not responsive and works with all the speeds it can offer. It is covered by the warranty.
Very good for amateur use, and the set of accessories is very convenient. Together with the carrying case, it is an excellent product.
The extension cable only makes sense if you have a workbench, otherwise it's not that useful. The user instructions are not very beginner-friendly. However, in terms of what I tested it for (mainly sanding), it is quite powerful.
