Description

More power, greater detail

With two EXPEED processors at its core, the Z 7II easily handles the process of creating full-frame images in high resolution.

You will have greater dynamic range and cleaner performance across the entire ISO range. You will focus with absolute stability even when shooting in extremely low light.

Maximum speed and reliability

The dual card slots allow you to use UHS-II SD cards in one slot and XQD or high-speed CFexpress cards in the other.

Configure the camera to use the cards for data overflow, backup storage, storing RAW files on one card and JPEG files on the other, or storing photos on one card and videos on the other.

Extremely Wide, Absolutely Sharp Autofocus

The sensitive combined AF system ensures wide, ultra-sharp coverage and the camera returns to the selected focus point when exiting standby mode.

Exposure metering down to -4 EV is available when shooting with a lens that has an aperture of f/2 or faster.

Photograph faster and for longer, silently.

Shooting speeds of up to 10 frames per second (fps) ensure top-notch versatility, while the larger internal memory and dual card slot allow you to keep shooting without interruptions.

Capture up to 200 full-resolution JPEGs or 77 uncompressed 12-bit RAW images in one burst.

Impressive Dynamic Range

Textures, patterns, colors. The Z 7II ensures stunning dynamic range at both high and low ISO settings. Tonal gradations are incredibly smooth, and you achieve exceptional accuracy in reproducing skin tones.

The ability to shoot video at resolutions up to 4K/60p allows you to capture dynamic scenes with mesmerizing detail.

Precise tracking

Even for small subjects, tracking is accurate. You can turn tracking on or off from the shutter button or assign the tracking function to one of the camera's or lens's Fn buttons.

People and Animals

The Eye Detection AF locks onto human eyes. The Animal Detection AF does the same for cats and dogs.

Keep a steady focus on your subject's eyes whether you're shooting photos or video.

This review is about the type kit: Kit (Z 24-70mm F4 S)

I have been using the camera for half a year and I will take away one star. First of all, let me tell you that I am a fan of the company for many reasons, but I always want to be objective. To start, the image quality is incredible and you will definitely never be disappointed. I don't work with video, but from what I've seen, it's fine. Now I want to move on to the biggest disadvantage of the camera, which is the auto focus. Guys, I can't believe it!! I was watching videos on YouTube that said the auto focus is mediocre, and I thought, okay, it can't be that bad (it costs €3000), after all, these are big professionals with extreme demands, but I was wrong. I have lost countless shots because of this auto focus. I really don't know how they managed it in this professional camera, but I have tried cameras costing €100 and €500 that had incomparably better auto focus. It misses photos where the point to focus on is obvious and focuses on the edge of the photo. It can even be that in one photo, 80% is a portrait and it focuses on the background where there is nothing. It's extremely bad, I'm not joking, and a phone costing €100 has better auto focus, and I have done all the updates but nothing, and I have tried all the modes. I really don't know how they managed this in a €3000 machine. Let's move on to the build quality, which is incredible; you really feel like you are holding something very premium. It is mostly made of metal, premium materials, and you feel it is very sturdy, with an amazing grip. The screen is good, the viewfinder seemed mediocre to me; a Canon M50 I had had a better one. The app for the phone is good; it generally has useful features like being able to transfer photos even when the camera is off, but it takes a long time to transfer photos. And something unrelated, just so you know, in the summer it heats up very quickly with a few photos; thankfully, I don't shoot videos and I am in northern Greece. And one last thing I didn't like is the fact that there is not much room for customization. You can't customize many things like I learned from the Canon M50 I had, where you could practically do everything.

I have the older Z7 which is still in perfect condition after 5+ years of daily professional use. I got the Z 7ii because I needed a second one for work and the price was a steal.

I bought it when it first came out, and 3 years later, I repurchased it the other day because for my tastes, I haven't found anything better for Landscape Photography in Full Frame.
I don't photograph flying creatures, crawling things, dinosaurs, etc., so for me, its AF is more than excellent.
In my personal opinion, it's probably not worth it for someone to spend extra money on a similar type of lens, regardless of the brand. All of them will satisfy even the most demanding photographer in one way or another.
The one and only problem I have encountered, and from what I read, is likely a problem with specific CF Express cards and not the camera itself.
With Sandisk CFX/2 regardless of capacity, it shows me Card Error. It does the same with Prograde. On the other hand, I haven't noticed any problems with XQDs.
If you are going to buy this specific camera, I wish you good shots and truly great enjoyment!

Very good machine, tested everywhere, low lighting, fast AF, user-friendly menu, two cards, fast data transfer, connectivity, low weight and in the two years together without any problem! Classic Nikon!

I give it 4 stars because it could be better! I bought it when it first came out and it really performs well, but with the competition growing and the arrival of the Z7II, Z8, and Z9, it falls short! Still, it is a very good camera for professional and non-professional use! If you know what you're doing, this camera can do wonders! I would have expected the price to drop a bit after so many years, because with this money, you can get something much more powerful!
Overall, a very good camera. Well done, Nikon! (One day you will catch up to Sony, don't cry)
