Solves the problem with parboiled rice, you put the measured amount of rice, water up to the corresponding line, press the button, leave it completely and in 40 minutes you can eat! As soon as it finishes boiling, I add butter on top (and leave it for another 10-15 minutes with the lid on) and either I have a side dish ready or I open a can of tuna with oil and a can of Mexican salad and voila! The maximum quantity is sufficient for a good side dish for 3 adults weighing 90 kilograms each or mainly a meal for 2.
Minor drawbacks, negligible compared to the price:
1. With other types of rice (Carolina, basmati that I have tried), no matter how much you rinse before and no matter how much you reduce the quantity, they always swell and overflow if you don't remove the lid, so you have to be there for the first 20 minutes, which is a hassle similar to using a regular pot, but the result is very good!
2. It always slightly sticks to the bottom, tasty and slightly sticky, and easily removable without scrubbing (just with your hand after soaking it a bit so as not to damage the non-stick coating!), but no matter what you do, it sticks...
3. The container lifts up from the spring mechanism as you empty it (always use a plastic spoon so as not to scratch the non-stick coating!) and you cannot hold it from anywhere without burning yourself while resisting the emptying.
4. The container is made of very thin aluminum and you have to be careful not to force it by throwing it around like you would with a regular pot and bend it, as it will not make good contact with the heating element.
5. The container cannot be put in the dishwasher (but at least it is very easy to clean, although the non-stick coating requires attention).
Overall, considering the price, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT, especially for bachelors/students/workers with little time! It would also be convenient in the office, you can put it to work in the back and with a little sauce, you have a proper snack instead of fast food. It is small and cute in size, it does not bother with its volume, noise, etc., except for steam for 20 minutes of boiling.
I tried everything, It always sticks to the bottom:
a) plain rice with water
b) rinsed rice with water
c) rice with oil and water
d) rice with oil, water, and salt
e) different quantities of rice and/or water
f) different types of rice (Bonnet, Carolina, Brown, Wild, Black)
The only way to prevent it from sticking is to use oil or... simply cook it in a pot with the right quantity and without any effort to finish it...
Today it exploded while heating and burned down the house's security. It lasted for four months, but I didn't use it much
Very good for rice, you just have to close it a little earlier than it says because otherwise it sticks to the bottom. Otherwise, it's great
Very good, especially for its price, just be careful with the non-stick coating as it scratches very easily
Very useful and does its job very well. The only negative thing is that the rice sticks to the bottom!!!!
It cleans easily, it facilitates a lot as it definitely saves time in cooking. It doesn't make noise, construction-wise it seems fine to me and so far, whatever rice I used (mostly Carolina) remained quite fluffy. Surely with a bigger budget, there will be much better machines out there, but overall this specific one is decent for its price.
It's great, I've had it for 1 year and it hasn't had any issues. The trick to prevent the rice from sticking is to add water and let it soak before cooking, and it will easily come off on its own after a while.
It lasted for 5 months, the rice sticks to the bottom, the bottom is damaged, better to spend a little more for something more reliable
Excellent rice cooker. It doesn't stick and with the right rice, it cooks quickly and deliciously. I recommend jasmine rice. I wonder why some people say it sticks. If you leave it on warm for five hours, not only does it stick, but it also burns and forms a crust. There is no reason to leave it on for more than 15-20 minutes after it's done.
Good device for its price. Makes good rice. Usually, a little burnt rice remains at the bottom of the pot. With a lot of water, it can slightly dirty the space or even start foaming from the hole in the lid. Good as a first device for someone to try if it serves them, but there are definitely much better devices on the market than this one.
It is very easy to use, small in size, and the rice is ready in 30 minutes. Personally, I leave it with the lid closed for another 15 minutes and the rice comes out more delicious. I believe it is an awesome value for money rice cooker.
It hangs a little low, but it's good. Compared to cooking in a saucepan, it's slow (30 minutes) and slightly worse in taste for my own preferences.
After testing, it cooks rice correctly without burning it, but it always sticks a little to the bottom. It is preferable to use parboiled rice with the quantity of rice and water as indicated on the device's measuring cup. With other types of rice, the rice may become mushy and stick to the bottom.
Very good, it does its job perfectly fine.
Classic rice cooker, in 20 minutes the rice is ready and stays warm.
Very good value for money!
Ok. It does its job very well, I have used it twice so far and the rice it produces is really nice. Someone can easily put the rice to cook and forget about it without worrying if the food will burn. Just remember to put a greaseproof paper on the bottom that you have pierced so that the rice does not stick. It does not have a silicone bottom which would be ideal for this job.
I would give it 4 stars because the food sticks a little to the bottom after 10 uses, but for this price and the kind of food it makes... Very useful and easy for a student or anyone
I live alone and I don't eat large quantities.
I boil white buckwheat (it has a milder taste and requires less attention in cooking compared to the dark one; it is served with oil and oregano).
When I boil it in the microwave, the neighbors get annoyed, especially during quiet hours. The pot on the kitchen stove creates steam.
The Sencor SRM 0600WH kettle is perfect.
You should buy it.
If you have a family, buy a larger model.
Really flawless device!!! Especially for those who pay attention to their diet and often cook rice in small quantities, it is truly perfect!!!! It is worth every penny until the last minute. Don't think twice if you are in this category!!!!!
It's amazing!!! Easy to cook with and doesn't stick. It cooks and keeps the food warm. Functional and easy!!!!
