Description

The new FRITZ! Box 7590 AX model is a newer variation of the popular FRITZ! Box 7590. The FRITZ! Box 7590 AX offers the basic performance features of the FRITZ! Box 7590 but uses WiFi6, the next generation of WiFi. The new WiFi6 wireless standard is faster and - above all - more efficient, as even more devices can connect simultaneously with Wi-Fi. The eight Wi-Fi antennas of the new model achieve up to 2400 Mbit/s in the 5 GHz band and 1200 Mbit/s in the 2.4 GHz band. Along with smart Mesh technology, the FRITZ! Box 7590 AX is a top model in the next generation of Wi-Fi. It also supports VDSL supervectoring, for internet speeds up to 300 Mbit/s.

Wi-Fi 6 - faster Wi-Fi for every occasion

Wi-Fi 6 is the newest and fastest wireless standard, achieving speeds up to 40% higher than previous generations of Wi-Fi. With the high-speed Wi-Fi of the FRITZ!Box 7590 AX, browsing and data streaming move into the fast lane. The highlight: Even with many devices active simultaneously, data rates remain high - for each device individually. In intense multiplayer battles, you will benefit from lower latency with Wi-Fi 6. The cherry on top is the new energy-saving features, which improve the battery performance of your devices.

Telephony for today

With the FRITZ!Box 7590, you have a complete telephone system. You can connect anything, whether it is an analog, IP phone, or even iPhone and Android smartphones. With the FRITZ!App Fon for smartphones, you can make or answer calls from the fixed network with your smartphone.

The app also informs you about calls or voicemail messages even if you are not at home or the office! Add to this the fact that a fax or a voicemail message can be automatically sent to your email while you are away, and you have the most practical and complete solution for every communication.

Quality in entertainment at every moment

More and more things we see are through the network. We want to enjoy them without problems at every point in the house. With its powerful USB 3.0 ports, the FRITZ!Box 7590 is a multimedia center: music, photos, and videos are all available simultaneously on multiple devices. You won't wait for the file to transfer, just watch the movie in high resolution.

FRITZ!Box for security

If you're afraid of the internet and don't know where to start, the FRITZ!Box provides a solution. It updates automatically and handles all security issues in the best possible way. The AVM team addresses and provides solutions to every new security issue so you don't have to worry about it.

A month and a half after the purchase, no interruptions and its speed on a 200 Mbps Cosmote connection, pinned at 214.9 Mbit/s. With 4 connections at home, I present results from speedtest.net: https://www.speedtest.net/my-result/d/270740e6-7019-4e1f-8d4c-2f1f21b49674. Also, see the data in the photo...

Coming from Draytek and specifically the 2760, it was time to upgrade the line from 100 to 300 fiber to the home always with Cosmote. During the installation and opening of the router, I was amazed as when selecting the provider it takes all the settings by itself, even making the latest updates. The router is rock solid, you put it on a ups and forget that it is connected. It may not do at a network level what Draytek did, but in terms of VoiP management it is a leader. It is a value for money choice even in terms of WIFI 6.

The 2 Fritzbox that I have at home. I started with the 7490 and now the 7590 AX v2.
I took the backup from the 7490, loaded it onto the 7590, and everything was automatically transferred (phone directory, network settings with static IPs for each device, DDNS, SIP phones, etc).
I connect to vDSL Vodafone and went from 125 Down / 22 Up with the ZTE H268 to 170 Down / 22 Up simply with a 220 Down / 22 Up profile, 350 meters away from the exchange...
I press WPS for 5 seconds on the 7590 and the same on the 7490 and I have Mesh and telephony over WiFi (combined 5g & 2G total bandwidth 1.5 Gbit/s) even in the other room/office where the 7490 is located. Speed test and ping measurement in gaming better than previous generation Power-line.

With COSMOTE, it does everything on its own, including telephony. With the catalog it has inside, there is an unresolved issue with Greek, displaying asterisks on the phone that the German does not seem to solve despite repeated emails from many. NEVER DISCONNECT. The epitome of stability. With 100Mbps, it synchronizes at 110 up and 11 down. The WiFi is pretty good but ASUS is not (not a huge difference). It replaced an ASUS DSL-AC87VG (A M A Z I N G) when purchased, it was perhaps the only one that had telephony with COSMOTE.

Does this Modem/Router have a Seale GRX550 Processor...it has 2 cores at 1000Mhz or 1Ghz with DDR3 512Mbs RAM, I don't know at how many Mhz it runs but I believe it's at 1333Mhz. Is it worth its money? I think NOT since it has the same processor for 3 generations now....with that much money, you can get a Modem with a processor with 4 cores, 1Gb RAM, and tri-band wifi...especially if you're a Gamer, 4 cores do the job.

Really, it can't be compared to anything I've tried... After I switched to VDSL and removed the Vodafone router, I saw the real difference. No disconnections like I had with Vodafone and about 10Mbps faster connection.
Many settings like DNS IP from Cloudflare on all devices, to monitoring how much internet usage the kids have and coupons for extra time...
Plus, many good applications on the mobile.

While the packaging clearly states that it supports POTS (analog) telephony, they cut it off and did not change the packaging.

So you receive it, you confirm the features from the packaging before opening it, and in the end, you are left with the device in your hand and you go through return procedures.

The 7590AX series generally only supports VOIP incoming telephony, so be careful before ordering.

    Update:
I inform the evaluation, they finally updated their official website where it is clearly shown:
    https://en.avm.de/products/comparing-avm-products/fritzbox/vdsladsl/

I also attach a relevant image.

300€ wasted money. Too much hype around Fritz!box, without deserving it. The connection easily gets clogged when downloading torrents (even when using a "limiter") or when updating a mobile device. Second Fritz!box that passes through my hands and does the same.

By far the best router that has passed through my hands is the legendary ASUS DSL-AC68U. Fritz!box only if you have VOIP (with Cosmote) and want an all-in-one router.

The review is about ADSL24 connection. If the situation changes when I switch to VDSL, I will update the review.

    UPDATE:
Finally, with VDSL, it's a completely different machine and behavior. I am completely satisfied. Obviously, the ADSL drivers have been completely neglected.
