Methyl - B12 by Now is a dietary supplement of vitamin B12 in the form of methylcobalamin. It is the only natural product that contains cobalt, which gives it its vibrant red color. It is found in animal-derived foods, such as meat.

Vitamin B12 deficiency leads to megaloblastic anemia, which is caused either by a lack of B12, a lack of folic acid, or poor absorption of B12 from the stomach due to a lack or destruction of the intrinsic factor necessary for B12 absorption. Deficiency is usually observed in individuals who fast for long periods or follow vegetarian diets.
