Sundew is an herb that grows in the shrublands of the northern hemisphere. The entire plant is used for the soothing syrup and acts on the throat, lungs, and respiratory tracts, with beneficial effects on bronchitis, whooping cough, and persistent cough.

The effectiveness of sundew against streptococcus, staphylococcus, and pneumococcus is due to the presence of plumbagin. Its relaxing effect on involuntary muscles helps relieve asthma.

Ivy is successfully used in the treatment of catarrhal conditions of the sinus area. Ivy also helps in dealing with cough and bronchitis by facilitating the liquefaction of secretions.

Wild fir is used in cases of bronchitis, sinusitis, catarrh, hoarseness, throat irritation, and cough. Wild fir contains resin, essential oil, terpenes, and tannin, which act beneficially, naturally soothing the irritated upper respiratory system.

Ingredients

Syrup and extract of wild fir (Piceae abietis), fresh herb and root of sundew (Drosera rotundifolia), and fresh herb of ivy (Hedera helix). Also contains raw sugar, honey, and concentrated fresh pear juice. Alcohol content: 6%(v/v)

Usage

Adults: 10ml (1 measure or 2 teaspoons) 2 to 4 times a day.
Children (6-12 years): Half the adult dose.

    It does not provide immediate relief from dry cough and sore throat. It is more expensive than other products with better reviews and I don't think it's worth the money. I took one dose and it only slightly eased my throat and the cough remained slightly reduced. I took another dose within the hour because the cough was bothering me and I slept with a little cough. I woke up with a persistent dry cough and a stuffy nose. I believe it requires multiple doses for several days to take effect. If you want immediate relief, it doesn't work.
