Two main adjustments. The adjustment with the black plastic knob is for the length, this definitely doesn't have a big impact. The metal handle when you twist it clockwise opens in front, and with the black supplementary plastics, you can apply pressures more targeted to the shoe to bring it to your measurements. Obviously, everything depends on the material of the shoe. In width, however, I have managed to adjust the leather one by half a size, maybe even a bit better. Now with plastic, don't expect to open All Stars with these... My opinion is that if you have the luxury of having them at home, do it with patience and gradually little by little. I have salvaged a shoe this way that I had decided to get rid of. Also, I should say that it is surprisingly durable despite the very low price, compared to others. Qualitatively, no, it is not, but they don't break immediately even though it seems like a simple construction and bad material, they ultimately do their job.
