Superfast A15 Bionic chip and fast 5G. Long-lasting battery life and a standout camera. Plus, an extremely durable design and a Home button with secure Touch ID.
A15 Bionic
The iPhone SE 2022 features the same processor as the iPhone 13 series, a chip that has 6 cores, a 5-core GPU for 50% faster graphics, advanced image processing, a high-speed Neural Engine, and even better security for personal data. At the same time, it enhances photos, making faces and landscapes look even better.
5G
Now you can download huge files on the go or stream high-quality movies without delay using 5G technology. The iPhone has the most 5G bands of any smartphone, so you get 5G in more places. And all that speed opens up amazing possibilities for the future of apps. Plus, when your iPhone doesn't need 5G speeds, it switches to Smart Data mode to save battery life.
Durable and waterproof
It features a durable casing made of tough glass on the front and back, and it is not affected by accidental liquid spills, such as coffee, tea, and water.
Camera
Smart HDR 4 for contrast and lighting adjustment
Deep Fusion for distinguishing differences in low light conditions
Portrait mode for background blur in portrait photography
Touch ID
The iPhone SE continues to use the Home Button with Touch ID for unlocking, logging into apps, and making purchases with Apple Pay.
Package contents
The packaging does not include headphones and a charger, but only a USB-C to Lightning cable for charging your iPhone. This reduces the box size, resulting in more devices per shipment and a reduction in the energy spent on transporting them. Additionally, this year Apple removed the plastic wrap from the packaging, avoiding the use of 600 tons of plastic.
1 Year On Device, 1 Year Data/Charging Cable, 1 Year Battery

The mobile phone is very good, it has a nice small screen fantastic for those who do not have giant hands. The phone features the Apple Bionic Chip 15, which is found in the iPhone 13 and runs pages and games fantastically. The 12-megapixel camera is very satisfying and better than the 108-megapixel camera of the Redmi, the only drawback is that it does not have night mode. The only thing that is not fantastic is the battery, which after three hours of use went from 100 to 67. It is a very capable phone that I highly recommend.
Things here are relatively simple. It is an iPhone 13 in the body of an iPhone 8, so we are talking about a unique device.
In theory, it is aimed at people who want a small and fast device, and who also like this particular design, as the iPhone 12 mini and 13 mini are slightly smaller in overall size and have a larger screen.
The battery holds up fine all day with normal use, especially if you have background refresh turned off. The single rear camera takes good photos in light (no night mode) and the video is fantastic as always on iPhones. The selfie camera is just okay.
As for apps, games, etc., they all run smoothly!
A big advantage is the touch ID, and something else that personally interests me is that with the retina display compared to AMOLED, I don't worry about burn-in from usage.
Coming from the now legendary iPhone 8, I couldn't give up the Touch ID and the ideal size of this device that blows with the A15. For those who don't seek a semi-professional level camera like those advertised on mobiles that cost 900+ euros, it will do what the others do for half the price. Without this meaning that its simple 12 MP camera doesn't do its job decently.
The specific phone is a PROFESSIONAL tool and not a SLIPPER 6+ inch instead of a tablet.
Anyone who buys it does not play games on its impressive screen quality, does not take photos with semi-professional requirements, and does not make videos comparable to Hollywood productions.
Anyone who buys it mainly wants a PHONE that fits in their pocket and can be operated with one hand, never freezes anywhere, does everything like all the flagships, at half the price and half the size.
Its weak point is the battery life.
Front fingerprint, 5G speeds, wireless charging, and ideal size of a NORMAL phone, these are its biggest advantages.
A purchase for those who have the budget to get a reliable phone that performs miracles in a mini size.
Owner of the iPhone SE 2022 5g 4gb here for a year of daily use after years of using Android devices.
Positives:
- The processor is on par with €1000 mobile phones. The biggest advantage of this mobile phone is that it will last you at least 5 years without any lag.
- The operating system, iOS, is very good. It provides a hassle-free and smooth experience on a daily basis. It only takes a few weeks to adapt if you are a former Android user.
- The camera is very good for simple photos. It takes excellent photos during the day but average ones at night due to the lack of a night mode. The videos it captures are good, especially with external lighting.
- Wi-Fi calling is quite good, especially FaceTime, which is superior to Messenger's video calls in terms of image and sound quality.
- The Touch ID is very good and user-friendly on a daily basis.
- The sound is clear for music at normal volume, especially with the Apple Music service that offers lossless streaming. You will enjoy listening to music.
Negatives:
- Calls through the SIM card can be a bit problematic. Many times, when calling mobile phones, it doesn't connect and drops the call, so I have to call 2 or 3 times for the mobile phone to connect properly. Sometimes, when someone calls me, it doesn't connect and they told me it appeared as an incoming call.
- After a year, the battery needs to be charged twice a day.
Overall, it provides a better everyday experience compared to an Android. It delivers on all its promises and satisfies to the extent it promises.
With the mobile phone's processor, it is worth it for me as a purchase if you want to transition to the Apple ecosystem and have a pleasant daily experience with your smartphone
I bought this phone in August 2022. I would really describe it as a waste of money. I've had it for less than half a year and my screen freezes every time I touch it, while the microphone and speaker are of poor quality. As for the battery, it doesn't even last me half a day, even with very light use like browsing and social media. DO NOT BUY IT!
+Solid construction, relatively fast, satisfactory screen, good call quality, good daytime photos.
- Small screen, unacceptable battery life, annoying SMS typing (small keyboard), lack of night mode in the camera, charger not included, too expensive for what it offers.
The device is amazing with an A15 Bionic processor and a fantastic camera, worth its money, despite the small screen. Personally, it suits me, but still takes getting used to
The phone is of average quality in terms of construction compared to the previous iPhones 4s and SE that I had. Where it really falls behind is its processor, which is very slow and I believe it is far from the 3.2 GHz that the company claims, not from personal experience but from direct comparison with the Hawvei nova 5t. The reason I bought this phone is its size, which is convenient for pocket and handling. Its battery covers me because I don't play games and I consume little time for social media and internet. The screen, photos, and videos are okay according to its specifications. Overall, it is a mediocre-good phone that is far from its pricing. After six months of use, I can definitely describe it as a luxury trash. X.M
Coming from previous generations, I must mention that once again this phone is VFM for the experts, as its philosophy has a specific audience. It is significantly improved internally and has many capabilities. Of course, the larger battery capacity compared to previous generations is the best of all.
For those who are not heavily involved in social media, games, videos, and generally spend many hours on the internet, this phone is very good. It is very fast, has a user-friendly menu, and fits easily in your pocket. It is aimed at a specific audience who wants a small device for calls and convenience in some internet tasks. The battery could be better, but it lasts the day with normal use. It is top in its category. Now, as for its price... Apple is the one who sets it so high. It is a good option for those who are exempt from VAT. Clearly, the mini 12 is smaller and better
I remain with Apple because it continues to manufacture pocket-sized phones. Unfortunately, other manufacturers do not take this part of the market into account, producing exclusively phablets and not phones. Coming from an iPhone 8, I initially tried the 13 mini. However, there were two things I didn't like: its square shape and Face ID. The SE is a gem in hand with its curves, and the LCD screen is more comfortable on the eyes without lacking in black. With the SE's Touch ID, you have immediate unlocking under any conditions before even taking the phone out of your pocket, without needing to bring it to your face, mainly without having to swipe up the Lock Screen (Apple could have had it as an option in the settings, but as we know, Apple decides for us before us...). The battery lasts about 30% longer than the iPhone 8, so the day goes by comfortably. It's incredibly fast, of course, although in everyday use, one won't notice a difference compared to, let's say, the iPhone 8. The difference may be noticeable in games, which doesn't interest me. I would buy it again with my eyes closed. It is the last mobile phone with top-notch hardware that fits in a pocket and has a fingerprint sensor.
EDIT* The camera is excellent, with the only downside being that Apple, for its own reasons, has not included night mode! Install the NeuralCam app (5 euros), and you will have a better night mode than Apple's native one, with excellent customization and results (you can even capture stars). Also, for raw photos, install the Simple Raw Camera, which is free for the SE, as the paid version unlocks the wide-angle cameras, which is not necessary here.
I have the mobile for a while now. But I have to say that it is a beast with a very good camera, very good resolution, amazing sound, and a satisfactory battery that lasts me 1 day with light usage and at least 1-2 charges with heavy usage
An iPhone 13 in the body of an iPhone 8. Very fast and beautiful mobile, personally I like it because it is compact and fits easily in my pocket. It is a one-way street for these dimensions that will pleasantly surprise you
I preferred this specific model from Apple over one from the "higher" series purely for the Touch ID, as in everyday life, Face ID or constantly entering a passcode did not suit me. I had given the iPhone 11 a few years ago for this reason. I got the 128GB version in black color.
I have had it in my hands for a few days, and I can say that it is very good. Its camera, which I have tested both indoors and outdoors, is amazing. Even in outdoor spaces with a lot of light, the quality of the results is tremendous. I don't have an opinion yet on night shots.
It is very fast, with excellent call quality and very good speakers. The downside is its battery, but not terribly bad (compared to other iPhones). With Bluetooth on (due to Apple Watch) and data constantly on, it barely lasts a day. Without Bluetooth, it easily lasts.
In summary, an excellent choice for its price, with a mobile phone that, thanks to its processor and how well Apple takes care of its mobile phones, will easily last four years.
Android user here for 10 years, coming from Xiaomi M9TPRO. I was worried about the battery and small screen reviews, since the M9TPRO is all screen without bezels and notch. In the end, the doubts and concerns were not confirmed.
The design is outdated but that makes it unique. The one-handed use and how lightweight it is are some of the first things that attract you to it. The screen is LCD at 720p, but because it is small in size, the clarity is like having 1080p on an AMOLED. The A15 bionic processor is one of the best on the market right now, as of the time of writing this review, and it has nothing to envy in terms of performance to flagship Android and Apple phones. Fast and responsive, day to day usage is a pleasant experience. The single rear camera is good and has the best 4K video recording in this mobile category. Of course, the lack of wide-angle and telephoto lens makes it weak for someone who wants to use their phone for photography. The front camera is not amazing, but it gets the job done. The usage I do is mainly office productivity (email, calendar, note-taking with the help of my iPad), music, a little bit of social media usage, and no gaming. The battery, despite various rumors, easily lasts me the whole day and I still have battery left to spare. This depends on each person's usage.
In general, if you are an Android user and want to switch to an iPhone without a big budget, if the small screen and camera don't bother you, you get a good phone for its price with support for updates for at least 5-6 years. If you are coming from iPhone 6, 7, and 8 but want to stay with the same design, the SE 2022 is a no-brainer and the safest choice.
If you want an iPhone with a large screen and good cameras for the same price, then it's good to go for the iPhone 11, although you sacrifice the processor, which is older there, and you won't have as many years of support.
The iPhone SE 2022 (3rd Generation) is a good phone but for a specific group of users who appreciate ease of use and portability while sticking to something simple and familiar.
