The MXS 5.0 is an advanced microprocessor-controlled battery charger that delivers unmatched performance for lead-acid batteries from 1.2 to 110Ah.

First time I buy a charger-maintainer and I did it after I had come to despair and read the reviews here. In a car that remains stationary for a long time and while its battery was only 9 months old, twice it didn't even have a spark. So I bought this specific one and I have to say after using it in two cars, that the charger is amazing and reliable. It fully revived one battery and charged another one that I was told needed to be replaced. It automatically recognized the batteries, in one it started from 1 and took 16 hours, in the other it started from deep 3 and took 7 hours for full charges. I put it directly on the car batteries on the positive and negative pole without any problem. In the end, it is something that we all need and it saves you time and money. I bought a second one for my father-in-law who uses it for a lawnmower and a car. Later I will try it on alarm batteries. I highly recommend it, plus it comes with a five-year warranty.
After several years of occasional use, the mode does not change to car, motorcycle, AGM, etc.
There is no repair service and it doesn't even have screws to open it. With great difficulty, I managed to open it to spray contact cleaner in hopes that the button would work, but in vain. It's a shame because 80 euros is not a small amount.
I installed a 2010 x max battery today, worn out... from cold and limited charging due to the limited use of the scooter. It shows that it charged... if the bike starts, it's an amazing tool... it has solved my problems and will have paid for itself. And it started on the first try... PERFECT!!!
It worked perfectly on a small motorcycle battery of 3.5 Ah and a car battery of 70 Ah. The motorcycle battery, which was 5 years old (inactive for a long time), showed an error during charging but was restored after using the recon mode.
Very easy to apply. I used it 2 times on a motorcycle battery when I saw on the dashboard the notification that the battery charge level was dropping. It charged it in about three hours. As soon as I put the battery back in my bike, the battery indicator immediately stopped lighting up. I still haven't needed to test it in the car; once I do, I'll get back to you.
I've had it for years, it has revived 2 car batteries that died from the cold, one of them, and the other one after 5 years didn't hold a charge but with this it lasted another 3, so it's fair to say that it does its job and has paid for itself. I don't like this story with the lights where every time you have to figure out what's happening and what each light is telling you. The bag-case is very good, it keeps all the accessories together and you don't lose them. I use it occasionally, not heavily.

It was tested on a PIAGGIO BEVERLY 400 HPE battery and since I am a sailor and was away, my wife installed it as the scooter had to be moved to another parking spot.

The charger started working at midnight on the completely dead battery for over 4 months, and by early morning it had fully charged it.
Maybe it's old in design since it has been around for quite a few years, but no one buys it for its beauty.

It works great on a motorcycle. You just connect the cables to the + and - and simply by removing the seat you can charge it.
I use it on a KTM 790 Adventure and on 2 cars Opel Corsa & Mitsubishi ASX with perfect results. In the latter, while the battery almost never charges after 1 week, it managed to keep it in full operation 2 years later.
I have been using it for 13 years since it was released. It charges perfectly from the smallest to the largest battery (motorcycles + cars 12 volts), something that other chargers do not do. It does not damage the batteries. It automatically adjusts the amp/volt output to the correct levels. Also, in phase 7 FLOAT, the green light does not turn off and does not mean that we have reached 100% because it continues to provide charging (13.6V/0.8A MOTO) (13.6V 5A CAR) until it enters phase 8 after 240 hours.
Also, the MODE button, although it appears large, actually has a mini button underneath, and to press it, you need to press it with the nail of your left thumb on the upper circular edge and 2 millimeters to the right.
In summary, it is an excellent choice, if not perhaps the ONLY choice if you want a healthy battery.
For a machine, it is superb, it has saved me a lot of money from dead batteries due to inactivity. In a car, the time it took to complete the cycle was significantly longer (12-16 hours) but it managed perfectly. Simple and easy to use, and very convenient is the plug that screws into the battery so you can connect the charger with one click (literally).
I was very satisfied with the charger. It has a quality construction. It charged a completely empty battery due to the inactivity of the car. I hope it doesn't break quickly.

We have a total of 5 motorcycles and 4 cars with my partner. I have bought 7 chargers like these over the years and we use them constantly! We have the 0.8A, 3.8A, and 5.0A chargers. Never, I mean never, have we had any issues. One of the motorcycles was left in the garage with the charger connected for about 1 year. When I pressed the ignition, it started right away! It is worth every penny and more! If you want the charger for a motorcycle, then get the 0.8A. But if you want it for a car, then the 3.8A will work for a medium-sized battery. For larger (relatively) car batteries, I would recommend the 5A charger.
It was purchased to charge a motorcycle battery that had been inactive for about a year because I got tired of pushing it uphill. I plugged it in to charge in the evening around 18:00 and it was ready at around 00:00. The next day, I connected it to the motorcycle and it started right away. A very good tool, it will definitely pay for itself.

Purchase on 3/2/2023, used yesterday to charge the battery of my motorcycle, which gave up due to the recent cold weather. Charging duration was 5 hours, starting from No. 2 until No. 7 indicator light turned on. Today, when I put the battery back on the motorcycle and pressed the starter, it started instantly. Now, I will see how long it will last and if the battery will hold the charge. I will provide an update later. But for now, it does exactly what it promises and more
I had the same charger since 2011, which burned out in 2022 (after 11 years of use) and because I was satisfied with it, I bought the same one again. It does what it needs to and very well indeed.
Charged a 120Ah battery in about 12 hours that would have been useless under other circumstances, as its voltage before charging was at 5V.
It does what it promises, it doesn't overheat, it is a good device to extend the life of the car battery!!
I have two identical CTEK Car Battery Chargers MXS 5.0, which I permanently use during the winter to maintain the batteries of two cars: 1) a 55 amp gasoline car and 2) an 80 amp diesel car with a 2500 cc engine, both 4 years old, and I am completely satisfied. Yesterday, a Volvo S40 ran out of battery and the roadside assistance told us that it had short-circuited and couldn't be jump-started. We charged the battery with the CTEK charger for 15 hours and it charged perfectly. It is worth its money.
Guys, I have no experience with other products. I ended up with this specific charger because I have a motorcycle and a car.

Very good battery charger maintainer. It makes the battery new. You save money on replacing a battery that you think is "dead". It literally revives it.
I bought it today for charging and maintaining machines and cars. My mistake for not buying it years ago.
After doing research online, I decided to purchase this specific charger. With the Recond mode program, it revived a nearly dead motorcycle battery and made it like new. I did the same with a car battery, with the same results. I am very satisfied with the purchase.
I have had it for 7 years, charging the boat's battery all winter. I still haven't replaced it. Before I bought it, no matter which battery I got, it wouldn't last more than two years
In the first week and after 4 or 5 uses, it suddenly stopped working. Given the warranty, it was replaced by the store where it was originally purchased. The next machine did not have full functionality, so it cannot be considered reliable. However, in a short-circuit battery test, it showed that it charges properly unlike a charger (cheap) from a well-known chain store that indicated it was unsuitable for use. In conclusion, the 5-year warranty makes it a viable purchase, otherwise it would be a waste of money.
I am returning after a year of use so as not to be unfair. The second machine, therefore, did not present any problems at all, even though I constantly use it with a 120mAh battery. It is most likely that the first one was defective from the start.
