Incredibly fast with no problems so far, 2 years owner! The only downside is a bit expensive, purchased at 79 euros
I have the 500GB model. It has been working flawlessly since 5/24. Today it has health at 99%, having written more than 7TB. Even in the summer, under typical usage, I saw temperatures slightly higher than the environment. The number (300) it has in TBW for TLC memories is normal. Very worthwhile purchase.
The writing speed is at a mediocre SATA level at best. Sometimes it doesn't complete the CrystalDisk Mark 8 test. I also tested it on a Mac, with similar results. As an external drive, always, with two different enclosures of 10 and 20 Gbps and USB-C 3.2.
The Western Digital SN770 is SanDisk. I sent it with RMA to SanDisk UK Limited and I'm waiting... SanDisk does not provide a prepaid label despite having a partnership with UPS.
Perhaps the most stable value in an NVMe drive. It may be DRAM-less, but you don't notice it anywhere, and WD's claims about excellent optimization of the NAND and the controller are likely 100% true. In a system that runs alongside the 850x, I can't discern any difference in general use. The (any) superiority of the 850x will only be evident in benchmarks and the stated specs on the packaging. Ideal for very fast storage, at an excellent price for the speeds it offers, it will not disappoint in the slightest even as an OS drive.
VFM with a good balance between speed, quality, and price. Western Digital value. Overall, the black series is very high quality
I have had it for a few days. It was installed in a second NVMe slot on an MSI B550 Gaming Edge WiFi. I put it in purely for gaming and it runs smoothly at good temperatures and speeds.
I consider it to be the best choice for this price. There are other very detailed reviews that explain its pros and I totally agree.
The disk is perfect, the only negative thing is that I don't know if all ssd m2 come without a screw. So, look for one
I have had this specific disk for a while now. As far as performance goes, I use it for my game library and it works great compared to the old HDD I had. What impressed me is how cool it is. It stays at 45 degrees while my corresponding Samsung main drive goes up to 60 degrees.
I installed it as a second SSD in my desktop for game storage, using a PCI Express 4.0 slot. So the speed is incredible, as you can see in the screenshots compared to the already installed SSD in the desktop (Patriot P300 SSD 1TB M.2 NVMe PCI Express 3.0). No reliability issues so far, but I've only been using it for 2 months.
It reaches the speeds it promises, so far it has shown tremendous reliability and its heatsink works exceptionally well. I have never seen any errors or delays. One of the premium solutions in its category.
Connected to computers with pci express 3.0.
Whatever I say will be little. I open the laptop and the windows have already loaded!! Not even a 1 sec delay!! Highly recommended!!
Installed on a 2013 Macbook Air with an adapter. Although the intentions of the Chinese adapter regarding its impact on the speed of the WD are unknown, in measurements with BlackMagic, it consistently delivers the promised speeds. It remains to be seen over time. The speeds you see are the speeds that the Macbook's motherboard (we're talking about 2013!) can achieve and are better than the speeds provided by the NVMe that originally accompanied the Macbook.
I have not tested it on a faster machine to verify the speeds of 4,500 that the manufacturer claims. Overall, I highly recommend it.
(8 months later) It continues to operate flawlessly at the initial speeds without issues with the cache or anything else. The only change I made was replacing the simple (plain) adapter that was causing problems with another one that has a width! The assessment concerns the daily operation of the laptop with several hours every day and continuous saving-deleting of files (music-movies-photos)
Expected speed, reliability, management software, stable performance, incredible value for money, 6-star rating without any panic, synchronizes perfectly with my Greek. Not good
Replaced a 1TB Patriot as a secondary drive for game installation and storage. It achieves the promised speeds and has proven to be reliable and reasonably priced.
Attention!
Do not attempt to format it with any other file system other than NTFS. It doesn't "work". Not even on a partition.
It does what it promises. We will see over time how it will hold up. I will update accordingly.
The 4 stars are because the software that comes for migration (cloning) is terrible. Do NOT expect to easily migrate like Samsung's. If you have the knowledge, do it with different software, otherwise be sure to format.
One of the best choices at this price and has such good reviews. I bought it for 100€ and if you can find it for less it's super. It does what it promises. It is one of the most economical pci 4.0 nvme with 2 tb without sacrificing anything. You save how many cents compared to the equivalent samsung without the slightest downgrade
For its price, it is definitely worth it for both recording and data transfer. You can go faster, but it's not worth an extra 40€. Especially for builds worth 700-900€, it is highly worth it so you can spend money on other parts and not waste 100€ on Nvme. Buy it!
The SSD is the fastest I have ever touched. 5050mb/s sequential read and everything loads so quickly that I wonder if they actually loaded or if there is some mistake. However, it will take time to see if it has any problems or not. For now, I am impressed by its speed.
I've had him for a short time and you judge the disk after years. From what I see so far, it's very fast and easy to install. My system recognized it immediately. I hope I won't need to edit for many years.
I got this and it looks good, connected to pci 4gen, speed is exactly what they say, now let's see how long it will last.
