The fact that it is an industry standard tells us everything about its quality. However, I would say that it is not a microphone for "beginners" (for lack of a better word), not because it has any quirks but because someone who does not need the versatility and dynamics of this microphone could definitely go for something cheaper.

The microphone is perfect. The sound is very clear no matter what you use it for. I use it to record the Pontian lyra and it has never let me down. This microphone is, of course, an industry standard for recording musical instruments and one of the most versatile microphones ever made. However, there are two things you need to be careful about:

1) The capsule is more exposed in this particular model, so it is more sensitive compared to the rest of the microphone body.
2) If you use this microphone for vocals, make sure to use a windscreen.

Edit: The microphone has very good build quality, but the top part moves very easily
