I do not recommend it for a main pedal. It is rich, deep, but dull. Very good for rhythm guitar in old death metal with a long-sustained style (not typical death metal). It does not do clean thrashing or soloing [you can adjust it for soloing but it's silly not to buy a more suitable pedal] (for those, buy other pedals; there are guitar pedals for every style). For example, on a 6-string guitar, I put 7-string strings (the harmonics come out wrong, but you tune the A correctly, and as you go up in pitch on the high strings, you tune slightly higher; and as you go down in pitch on the low strings, you tune slightly lower [we're talking about a small differentiation/ open tuning, see piano tuning lecture). The very low octave string does not sound good on a 6-string guitar because it doesn't capture some harmonics, but you can experiment if you have an extra cheap Cort, for example. // This specific pedal is for long-sustained death metal. For thrashing and soloing, you must definitely buy other pedals. I also slightly add (a little) extra distortion from the amplifier. (For soft rock, get the Scrut One Control Pedal Overdrive Electric Guitar Persian Green Screamer. For gritty rock, get the Mooer Rumble Drive from Scrut [I also like it as an auxiliary for nice long-sustained melody, but not as a main]). // The Marshall Shred Master is worth it to enrich the recording. It is not suitable as a main pedal. Sonically rich but dull. // I would definitely buy it again because I want to enrich the sound harmonically and qualitatively in the mix.
