Deeply influenced by the video of Starova https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8HS8B7oeXGo and then the reviews of this specific machine (in all 3 variations), I come from a Gillette King C which I had bought from a supermarket for about 15 euros. My shaving had already been upgraded in the past year with the King, but it tired my hand a lot when I did the second pass due to its weight.

The MÜHLE is noticeably lighter, more beautiful, and more aggressive. With the blade that came with the packaging, I did my first shave yesterday very carefully after reading comments that it cuts if you're careless. With a 4-day beard, I didn't get any cuts, but I didn't get any irritation either. Two passes from top to bottom and that was it. It is aggressive because it slightly pulls the skin, and I have no idea how it does it, it's incredible. The result was not a close shave in the hand's feeling, and maybe this is because I was afraid, but we'll see in the long run. However, it was a pleasant process, without the machine getting stuck or clogged.

Tips for those who choose it:
    1. Good preparation of the skin with a warm shower and pre-shave to help the razor do its job.
    2. Disassembly and rinsing of the machine, especially the blade, at the end of shaving as there are trapped hairs between the heads. They won't come off with a simple rinse as they are stuck.
    3. You can get it as your first machine, I don't understand why they have baptized it as a "butcher". Just, if it's your first razor, the first 10 shaves will take you more time, about 20-25 minutes, to get used to it. From there on, you can do it with your eyes closed.

I have been using an adjustable closed comb razor for a while now, but because I was not satisfied with the closeness of the shave (multiple passes and irritation), I decided to get the Muhle R41 Black after doing some research.

Compared to stainless steel razors, the cheapness is obvious, as one would expect from the price. Where there is chrome, it looks like painted plastic, even though it is not. Among the available options, this black one looks the most premium. The handle looks like carbon and feels very nice to the touch, as well as in terms of weight.

It comes in a nice box with instructions for beginners and a Muhle razor to start shaving. It looks very beautiful and would make a great gift, as it appears to be worth much more.

Now, onto the practical aspects. I used it with a new feather blade, which is considered one of the sharpest, on four-day-old, relatively tough beard hair and on skin prone to irritation and ingrown hairs. The razor is very aggressive. With one good pass, you can shave and be done. I couldn't believe how sharp it is, especially since I struggled for a long time with the adjustable razor to achieve this.

All the "experienced" people say that it requires a lot of attention and is not suitable for beginners, and to be careful before using it, but you know what? Yes, it is very sharp, yes, you don't press it against the skin, yes, it is not for everyday shaving, but these are things you understand from the first use. We shave our face, we don't chop wood in the forest. If I may give you two small hints and then leave you in peace, always make sure it touches the soap, as it pulls the skin. In areas without beard hair or with irregularities, like old stitches on the chin in my case, take some time to find the right shaving direction because, as mentioned before, it pulls. Lastly, be careful not to slap it on the skin out of haste, as there is a chance of cuts.

Overall, I am impressed and I can't wait to try it with less sharp blades, which I assume will suit it well, as it is already very aggressive on its own. I recommend it to anyone who wants a truly sharp razor, as long as they have time for a good shave and are not in a rush.
