Description

The Trident Z5 RGB DDR5 RAM is aimed at demanding computer users, such as gamers, professionals in the field of video and image editing, designers, and those who require high performance from their computer.


DDR5

DDR5 is the fifth generation of RAM technology for computers. It replaces DDR4 and offers increased speeds and capacity.

It offers operating speeds from 3200MT/s to 12600MT/s, latency (CAS Latency) from CL 28 to CL 48, while its capacity has increased up to 64GB per memory module.

For speed (MT/s) and capacity (GB), the larger size we choose, the better performance we will have in our system, while for latency (CL), we want the smallest size for the speed (MT/s) we have chosen.

The above features should be compatible with the specifications of our motherboard.

The Trident Z5 RGB provides a speed of 6400MT/s, with CL32 and 16GB per memory module.

Compatibility

DDR5 technology is compatible with specific motherboards and processors. Indicatively, DDR5 is compatible with Alder Lake, Raptor Lake, and the latest Intel processors, as well as AMD Ryzen 7000 Series processors.

However, for compatibility with your motherboard, you need to ensure that your motherboard supports DDR5 technology from the manufacturer. Compatibility depends on the processor platform and the type of motherboard you are using.

XMP & EXPO

XMP & EXPO is a technology that allows us to increase the frequency and performance of our computer's memory without the need for manual adjustments. (XMP/EXPO) is easily activated from the BIOS, is available on certain RAM memories, and is supported by certain motherboards.

The Trident Z5 RGB has (XMP 3.0) profiles with performances:

  • Speed (XMP 3.0): 6400 MT/s
  • CAS Latency (XMP 3.0): 32-39-39-102
  • Voltage (XMP 3.0): 1.40V


RGB Light Bar​​​

The RGB lighting in the Trident Z5 RGB series offers all the means and functions to create a unique and impressive look for your computer.

You can achieve this either through the software provided by the company, Trident Z Lighting Control, or with the compatibility in Sync Up software provided by motherboard companies. The advantage with Sync Up is that we can synchronize the RGB lighting of the entire computer.

The Trident Z is compatible with Asus Aura, Gigabyte RGB Fusion, MSI Mystic Light, and ASRock Polychrome Sync software.

These specific (2x16 32g modules) were installed on an Asus Z790 f gaming 2 motherboard with an i714700k processor and played directly at 6400mhz with XMP. They can easily go up to 6800 with relatively tight timings for those interested in overclocking, although for an extra 20 euros, you can get the corresponding G.SKILL category at 6800 without having to deal with overclocking. In terms of aesthetics, their RGB lighting is very beautiful and can be synchronized with several software from other companies, but their size is a bit concerning compared to the tower and 360 AIOs for those who choose a setup with liquid cooling, as in some setups they may interfere with the front fan.
