The water dispenser is very good. I have 7 cats and 4 of them are addicted to it. They drink from there all the time, even though I have a supplementary container next to it, and if the fountain is turned off, they just wait until we open it! The other 3 cats drink from both containers depending on their mood. I have had it for about 5 months and its performance has decreased. The flow is low, and in the past few days, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. The issue lies in the pump. Even though there is a filter, it is not enough on its own. Cat hairs will pass through the container and during the water recycling process, they will accumulate and get tangled in the rotor (the little propeller inside the pump), eventually obstructing its movement and causing the pump to stop working. The photo shows how many hairs have accumulated, even though I change the water almost every day and the filter every month. I cleaned it with a toothpick and paper, turned it on, and it's like the first day! These pumps have a lifespan of 15,000-20,000 operating hours, assuming there are no manufacturing issues. Before you decide to throw away the product because it stopped working or is malfunctioning, take the time to open it and clean the pump. It only takes 5 minutes. Also, in the photo, you can't see another component that is between the rotor and the lid and has a sliding switch that regulates the water flow. If this switch is pulled all the way, it completely shuts off the flow of water. So even if you don't turn on the pump, you need to be careful because during external cleaning of the pump, the switch may turn and the water won't flow.
Within about a month it broke down, but I am getting a new one because my cat enjoys drinking water and it costs as much as the replacement filters I find online.
EDIT: We ended up buying the following pump and it now works flawlessly: https://www.skroutz.gr/s/37992440/Pet-Interest-Water-Fountain-Pump-05582-Antlia-Potistras.html
The little cat finally drinks water.. The power supply is USB and I made an extension with a motion detector so that it only works when the cat approaches.
For about 6 months it's good. After that, it fills with salts and the plastics start to deteriorate, and the cats don't go near it.
The operation started on August 25, 2023, and the pump stopped working on January 8, 2025. It worked continuously, and I changed the water often (I threw away the filters after a few weeks of use).
It was very successful with the cats. Not only did our cats use it, but I also caught some strays sneaking into the yard to drink from the fountain, even though we have bowls with fresh water further away for them to drink at their leisure. I looked for a replacement USB pump, but the cost was as much or more than getting a new fountain.
Thoughts for the next one:
To put some glass marbles or something similar to reduce the capacity of the water container (I change it every 2 days anyway)
To connect a motion sensor to the outlet so that it only works when a cat is nearby, so the pump doesn’t run continuously.
Very good for the money, I have connected it with a motion sensor and it works only when the cat approaches
2-3 months of use and then the motor just stops working (I have bought the product 2 times). I have also used some comments about cleaning with vinegar and the like, but nothing. For the price, okay, you can't say much or expect much
From the few cases where cheap is also GOOD! As others have written, it does its job properly. It requires weekly cleaning of the pump that catches hair, the same goes for the filters which need rinsing + changing about once a month. DO NOT leave it with a low level (the fish suck up all the water) because the pump burns out. Put a simple 24-hour rotary timer so that the pump does NOT run continuously.
Simple construction but it does its job. The filter it has doesn't fit well so I don't think it works, personally I've removed it. The pump needs cleaning about once a week if it collects dirt and hair so that it works properly. Occasionally, it's good to also clean the salts that accumulate in the container and the pump.
Very helpful, does what it promises. My cat is very satisfied. Just the filters are expensive here and I buy them from abroad via the internet
The plastics are of similar quality to those under €10 and there is no trace of a filter. It's just a pump that makes the water act like a fountain and that's it. Keep it filled with water that covers the pump because otherwise it makes a lot of noise as it drinks/evaporates. It assembles in 5"
It is excellent for drinking more water although it doesn't have assembly instructions and you struggle a bit at first. In the two weeks of use, it started to buzz. Now, of course, you might ask me what do you expect for 7 euros?
The kitty doesn't seem to like drinking water from this one as much as she did from the previous water fountain we had. She has to bend down to manage to drink. Otherwise, it is particularly quiet. There are no leaks at all.
For the money, it's good. My little cat drinks water just fine. I bought the first one last year, but the motor broke, so I got the same one again this year... Let's see how long it will last..
The motor stopped working after 2 months. For the price I paid, I can't complain, that's why I give it two stars.
If I had known that this existed, I definitely wouldn't have bought another brand that has broken down twice and I have to take it for service. It works day and night, two overweight cats enjoy it, they play with the water, drink water, the amount is more than enough. Having had a bad experience with Xiaomi, I noticed that it never stopped working. The only downside is that the cable, which is in a channel, has to be removed to disassemble the system so it can go into the dishwasher safely, except for the pump, and be washed. It would be better if the cable was separate. I agree that the pump needs to be disassembled because it collects hair. It has been running non-stop for six months, we just change the filters every month and clean it every week. The kittens are thriving inside the house. Buy two, they are excellent.
I have three cats! and all 3 drink from there all day. great convenience and it seemed to please them as well
I have it for a year now, works full time. The cats love it. Needs refilling every 3-4 days with two cats.
I have tried other fountains, this is the most sturdy. I had tried a similar design, but it doesn't compare to this one. Even the instructions are much better, it explains how often you need to clean it, it is silent, and most importantly, it holds enough water and doesn't spill outside. As for the pump, if it breaks, you can get a similar one from other sites to make it cheap (like Temu, etc.) if you don't want to buy a new fountain
Although it was liked by my own, its value depends on luck. The first one I procured lasted almost a year, the next two that were purchased together lasted 3 days for one and around 1.5 months for the other. The replacement water pump costs around €15-16, so it doesn't quite seem worth it.
Mediocre choice, it requires very frequent cleaning because it easily collects dirt, but opening and cleaning it takes a lot of time. When you put all its parts together, the water doesn't flow properly. At least that's what happened to me...
I have had it for about a month, I am very satisfied. It is quiet and easy to set up. It is just important to use the filters and change them in time.
Very good! My cats prefer it without any of the attachments! It makes quite a bit of noise, especially at night!
My cats drink constantly, it took them 1-2 weeks to get used to it at first and now they only drink from there. I'm thinking of getting one for the strays to put on the balcony
It is not externally as it appears in the photo and on the second day the motor broke. I will send it to the company to see if they will repair it and I will get back to you.
It arrived broken at the edge, resulting in it not fitting well, and after the first month of use (with proper maintenance), the motor that pumps out the water started having issues
It lasted about 4-5 months and then the pump burned out. While it worked, it was my cat's favorite. It makes a bit more noise, I would turn it off at night because it kept buzzing.
Tested. For the money, very honest. If you have a cat that eats wires, it won't live for long though.
I got two. The mechanism is completely silent, it doesn't scare the kitties and they adapted immediately. I think they are drinking more water in general now, which I wanted to help a bit with the kidneys of my elderly kitty. The only drawback is that I think it said it contains three filters in the package while I only found two in each box.
It is worth 100% of its price, it comes with filters (1 or 2) the pump does not last more than a year but from my experience with other fountains from pet shops they didn't last even 3 months. Get replacement pumps or do the same every year or so.
Generally, it helped a lot for the cat to drink more water (I used it without the fountain, just to keep the water moving because that’s how she preferred it) but it stopped working within 3 months of purchase.
It's fine for its price. My cat shouldn't have taken a sip, ever, as I used it. She is picky and doesn't like changes. Now I use it to drink myself.... (no)
