The 2.4Ghz frequency is the most common and has a long range. The 5Ghz provides higher speed than the 2.4Ghz but is more sensitive to obstacles (e.g. walls) that reduce its range. This difference, as well as its more limited use, helps to have fewer interferences from other networks. The repeater can provide up to 1500Mbps in total to the devices connected to it.
In practice, the actual speed shared among devices is closer to 250Mbps. For example, a high-resolution 4K movie requires about 25Mbps. The speed that each connected device will have depends on factors such as distance, obstacles, the number of other devices connected, the number of other networks in the same area, etc. It is Wi-Fi 6 generation, the most modern Wi-Fi standard that offers speeds up to 40% higher than Wi-Fi 5.
It optimizes communication with connected devices to consume less battery and perform better in environments with multiple Wi-Fi devices. Ideal for homes with many smart devices. Connection via ethernet cable provides a speed of 1000Mbps (also known as Gigabit), which is the maximum speed that ethernet can support.
Usually found in professional environments where transferring large files (e.g. high-definition videos) is a common occurrence, and in repeaters that support corresponding high WLAN speeds.

It was installed on an exterior wall, relatively close to the router, and provides internet at a distance of 30 meters with line of sight. The result is satisfactory, stable signal without interruptions. The setup is easy, and through the Tether app, there is the option for remote control via the internet
The top of the entire tp-link series is the 400 series, specifically the 450 model version 4. I wanted to cover a length of about 30 m, and this is the only one that manages it, delivering internet speeds of 27 Mbps on the five frequency. The 200 series, which costs around €25, couldn't cover me at all. The 300 series managed somewhat but had interruptions, and that's because it's a security camera!!!! You can't afford to lose video!!!! When I reached the 400 series, I chose the 450 version 4, which is top-notch. I did a test and measured it at 80 meters, and it has the same strength as it does at 30 m. It is installed on a sixth-floor balcony, 20 m from the router, and in a straight line without obstacles, it delivers 25 to 27 Mbps at 80 meters—amazing! I mean, the 505 barely managed around 5 Mbps; we're talking about 30 meters, and for 80, forget it, it didn't even catch. There's no reason to go for that series; even the 600 series, which I've read the best reviews about, didn't perform as well at that distance as the 450. Anyone looking for range for something very far should prefer the 450 version 4. I don't know if the other versions 1, 2, and 3 have significant differences; I haven't tested them, but logically they shouldn't have huge differences. Its price is around €50, starting from €48 if you find it ready to ship. Usually, it's four to ten days if you want it ready to ship; it goes up to €60, but it's worth it. It does a really good job, and I am very satisfied. I'm saying this from experience; prefer it. I've also tried the 600 series, but I wasn't as satisfied as with the 450 series
It reaches the advertised speeds, but unfortunately it constantly disconnects (every 20 minutes all day long) and the distance from my router was max 7 meters with one wall in between and no other obstacles. I updated the firmware as the manual suggested and it continued to do the same. I even tried leaving it right next to the router and it still disconnected. Money wasted and a shame for TP Link.
Apart from its excessively large size with bulky antennas, it works as it should where three other ones I tried failed miserably.
Update: Its speed has significant fluctuations throughout the day and sometimes it lags. The company's app, which you use to operate it, is exemplary.
Excellent product as an extender. Very easy installation and very user-friendly for moving around the house. You simply change the socket and it works in the space. It works satisfactorily in a large multi-storey house. Excellent value for money at 60 euros. Highly recommended!
I am very satisfied with it. I use it as a repeater and it gives me 200 on my 200 Mbps line. It works just as well as an extender. It is definitely worth the 65 that I bought it for and more
I really don't understand the 5 stars that many people give. I wonder! I should have read foreign reviews. The product is unacceptable in performance - especially for its price. Range extenders are not meant to just extend the signal to the next wall. They theoretically provide much greater coverage than the router, but also bandwidth (we're talking about 1500mbps here!). This particular one is equivalent to 20 euro solutions. Personally, I will continue with Devolo and throw this one in the trash.
Perfect if you are far away from the router.
I have a 20-meter cable from the router and I connect it to this device.
I connect 5 devices (computer, television, Xbox, Nintendo, mobile) and I get 95mbps out of the 100 that I would get with a regular router.
It simply reduces my speed by 5mbps, which is nothing.
The installation is a bit difficult because you have to deal with the applications, but it doesn't disconnect me like two other routers I had.
It doesn't shut down on its own either.
I did the setup once and it's perfect, no matter how many times I unplug it from the socket, it connects directly to the internet through Ethernet
I expected it to be faster! The TV (LG NANOcell '22) is slower than if it is directly connected to the router on the upper floor. There will be updates. The app is very good but there are many disconnections. I do not recommend it!!!
Very easy installation, you download the company's application and it connects easily. Very good coverage in areas far from the router where I had problems with disconnections and slow speed
Significantly faster than the old classic (and still excellent) TL-WA850RE it replaced. From a router synchronized at 200 Mbps, it receives and gives me an average of 50 Mbps at a distance of 25 meters with 2 walls in between. It reaches up to a maximum of 93 Mbps. It requires some experimentation with the orientation not only of the antennas but surprisingly (?) also of the body, and tests with the different frequency settings for optimal performance. Currently, it has not crashed, and in a few cases where the connection seems to drop, it reconnects after a few seconds without restarting, unlike the TL-WA850, especially the older versions.
Regardless of the above review, based on my own experience, I would recommend to those who have long distances and, of course, if the topology allows it, the installation of an external antenna (connected via Ethernet to the router) instead of a repeater/extender, as they will achieve much more stable high speeds. For example, from the Tp-Link EAP series
So with a 50 euro Cosmote card in the back room of the house and due to the layout of the house, I had a line like WiFi. Therefore, I never had internet for work or even for browsing, which was frustrating. So I got this specific extender, placed it between the router and the office, and the signal is perfect. It hasn't disconnected for a week now, and when I unplug it and move it anywhere, as soon as it's plugged back in, it automatically connects. Even in the garage, which is 20 meters away, it works perfectly. The steps for connection are simple and the kids mention them below. It connects with almost all routers. Great value for money for me at 60 euros.
I had also bought extenders in the past, specifically I have 4. I was never satisfied until now. This is really good, it almost never disconnects, it's fast, the app is incredible, for example, you can see who is connected and if you don't like someone, you can block them, etc. Seriously, without thinking, BUY it!!!!
I use this specific device as a WiFi extender. My router is the TP-Link AX20 (WiFi 6 and dual band). The installation was very easy and I use it with TP-Link's One Mesh feature, and it works perfectly. These conditions are quite ideal and unfortunately, I cannot know how it would work with a WiFi 5 router from another company instead of 6, although TP-Link's website says it is fully compatible.
