Description
The decision to utilize the former royal estate of Tatoi prompted me to contribute to the message of modernization, which seeks to blend the past with the future, preserving historical memories and raising concerns. Because that is exactly my vision. Through the lens flashes and the capture of the moment, to illuminate moments of history and give the opportunity to both older and younger generations to revisit the past, seeking memory or knowledge through different sources. In order to meet temporally in the present, despite each of our different starting points. The catalyst in this cognitive journey, featuring kings and princes but not a fairy tale, was photography. In a period dense with events, on both national and international levels. Thus, with the vehicle of descriptions in my father's index, the narratives in newspaper and magazine publications of the time, which framed and highlighted the most important photographic frames, as well as the newsreels of the National Audiovisual Archive, I attempted to recreate an era with a narrative that resembles a screenplay. Alexia Koulouri [...] The era was changing. Civil Society was emerging and bringing new data to Greek society. Thus, it significantly contributed to the excavation of the Tatoi estate, now awaiting its enhancement. Perhaps eagerly. The Tatoi Plan, combined with the Hellenikon Utilization Plan, one can imagine how much advantage it will provide to the capital Athens, as a modern, competitive, hospitable, global city. [...] Alexia Koulouri takes a stand in the great effort, presenting a historical documentary based on a great legacy of her late father. As a professional photojournalist, Dimitris Koulouris leaves a rich legacy of moments of people, protagonists of their time. An era that coincides with glorious but also sorrowful moments of an estate that should rightly not be covered by the dust of time.. From the Epilogue of Aris Portosalte
