I take away one star because sometimes the screen may go blank for 1 second. This doesn't bother me in the office work I do, but if you are playing a game it can be annoying.

I bought it to connect two monitors to a laptop that doesn't have a 3.0 USB-C port, so I could use a docking station. The two monitors have the same FHD resolution. It works by using a driver that is included in the converter in .exe format. I didn't notice any distortion or difference in the image between the monitor connected with HDMI and the monitor connected to the converter. Its casing is metallic, which I believe helps dissipate the heat it generates during operation, but to a normal extent. It is one of Ugreen's good products

Did you find this review helpful?I bought it to have 3 screens on my laptop. 1. Laptop screen, 2. External screen, and 3. Cintiq tablet. The external screen and the Cintiq have DVI input and so far I connected them to the laptop's HDMI with a DVI/HDMI adapter without any problem. The UGREEN has the driver for Windows and Mac written in its internal memory, which I installed and then thought it would be good to remove and transfer all the files that were inside the UGREEN to the laptop's disk. This may have caused the problems I had with the UGREEN. After countless connections and disconnections to the laptop's USB, it managed to connect to HDMI and I had an image only 2 or 3 times before the laptop completely stopped recognizing it as a video device and I had a reboot problem as well. Since the laptop no longer recognized it, I couldn't restore the files I had removed, so I booted with a Linux CD and managed to return the files back to the UGREEN. After that, the laptop started recognizing the UGREEN again. It didn't connect to HDMI again (No sync), but because my external screen also has a VGA input, I connected it to the VGA output of the UGREEN and immediately had an image at the same resolution I would have had with HDMI. I believe that the problems I had with this device may have been due to removing the files from the UGREEN's internal memory and the fact that my external screen and Cintiq were outputting HDMI with a DVI/HDMI adapter, while the VGA input, which worked, was direct without an adapter. The Cintiq was connected to the laptop's HDMI and this way, all 3 screens work perfectly!! It has excellent build quality (metallic) and now that the work in illustration, sketches, animation, etc. is functioning properly, it has reached another level!! If you have a screen with an HDMI input (without an adapter), I believe it will work perfectly and it is definitely worth it!! Some mention lag in videos for other similar adapters, but the UGREEN doesn't have that. Finally, I consider it important that it has 2 outputs (HDMI+VGA), which solved my problem and at a price that other adapters have only one.
