No, just no. I don't know what trend is this to have pillows with some kind of plastic film or whatever it is inside the cover, but lately I've seen it in several Airbnbs and just no. Squeezing it and hearing it sound like crumpling a bag of chips. Whoever knows what I mean, knows, now if you don't know, try it and good luck. Some people don't have an issue with it, but personally, I find it unacceptable.

Edit: I don't know how they managed it, but it is simultaneously softer AND harder than I would like. How can both of these be together when one cancels out the other, I hear you asking me. I have no idea, but it happens! And I was as surprised as you are reading this.
