The CN600 by Colorful is an SSD hard drive with the M.2 - Type 2280 form factor, and for its installation, the motherboard must have an M.2 slot. It supports the PCI Express 3.0 communication protocol and NVMe technology, offering high speeds that will enhance the user experience in demanding applications, provided that the computer's motherboard also supports them.
The large Cache memory design, speed, and stability are taken into account and significantly improve the write lifespan.
With the CN600, the operating system and applications open quickly, games load directly, and you are ready to start.
Specifications are collected from official manufacturer websites. Please verify the specifications before proceeding with your final purchase. If you notice any problem you can report it here.
Colorful has accustomed us to quality products and the CN600 is no exception! Many similarities with the Intenso Premium we have seen in a previous review, but it seems that Colorful made the difference where it counts!
Detailed benchmarks: https://youtu.be/ramO4HyHl6w
Pros:
► Provides around 300MB/s more than the promised numbers in Sequential!
► Excellent 4K/IOPS performance, to the point where it is the best drive we have tested for small files. And we have tested many, including the SN850 and 980 Pro which are Gen 4!
► Good quality 3D TLC NAND, with a high endurance limit (300TBW)
► The sticker also functions as a heatsink, resulting in low temperatures and no issues!
Cons:
► The price is slightly higher than it should be to be considered good value for money
Despite the slightly higher price, I consider this drive to be a good solution in the current market for someone building a system at this time. Its main competitors, NV1 and SN550, are a lottery in terms of what you will get in terms of controller and NAND, which completely changes their performance, reliability, etc., while the Intenso Premium, although more economical, is somewhat inferior overall, even though surprisingly it is almost the same drive.
We used it in a Budget Gaming PC that you can see here: https://youtu.be/TLgRETKTa-8
As you can see from the photos, it has quite good speeds, cheaper M.2 SSDs with SATA speeds that we have tested in the past simply cannot compare to it. Its packaging is quite high-quality as it comes in a box and not in a blister like most M.2s, it has a black with red sticker on it which is not the most discreet but it is preferable over something white, especially for a Gaming system.
The only problem we have with this one is that its price is a bit steep (around 35 euros for 256GB) as it is more expensive than equivalent Kingston and Patriot ones which, no matter how you look at it, are a bit more "branded".
If its price drops a bit or if, for example, you are buying other components from a store and it is available, do not hesitate to choose it.
The SSD delivers on its promises and more. It has impressive speeds and stays cool. After several benchmarks inside the case, it didn't exceed 46 degrees! You can also see some measurements I took. I would definitely like a 5-year warranty for added security. Also, if the price drops to 50 euros, then we can talk about a good deal. For now, the competition is tough!
