I really liked them. I was impressed by their quality relative to their price, plus the metallic, slim packaging is durable and I can throw them in my bag and take them with me wherever I go without any worries.
The top pencil in its category!! It performs even better than the Faber-Castell 9000 because it doesn't have the shine of the graphite, it is one click fuller and much more stable in the hand, and it has greater precision (which means more beautifully rounded letters or even more precise drawings/sketches)! Specifically, it has the greatest precision I have seen in a wooden pencil (Only the Pentel Graphgear 500 0.5mm has better, if not the same, precision and here we are talking about a mechanical pencil, with the highest precision in the world!) They go up to 14B!!! So, from whichever perspective you look at it, the pencil is worth its money and more.
I should emphasize that while the Pitt Graphite Matte is much darker than regular pencils, it is just as hard and durable as the 9000, if not even more durable. BUT in the medium to soft hardnesses (HB, 2B, etc.), it is one tone below the 9000. So, the 4B Pitt Graphite Matte has the same tone as the 3B in the Faber-Castell 9000 pencil, while in the very soft ones, it has 3 pencils that no other set in the world has, and those are 10B, 12B, and 14B. Even the 14B is not very soft as one would imagine, so it doesn't break easily, nor does the tip need sharpening every half minute!
PS You can either get a couple to try them first, or if you are sure you want them, then you can get them in bulk to make them even cheaper! Personally, I didn't get the 8B and 12B, but I got all the others. If you are into drawing/painting and already have another set that has worked for you, you can just get one or two (for example, any from 8B and above) to use them for very dark shading. They minimize the shine of the graphite, 90% or 95%, depending on the use.
