The Ultrasonic Sensor is a device that can measure the distance to an object using sound waves. It works by sending out a sound wave at a specific frequency and listening for the sound wave that returns.
Based on the knowledge that sound travels through the air at a speed of approximately 344 m/s, the distance can be calculated by multiplying the time it takes for the sound wave to return by 344 meters. To find the distance to the object, simply divide the returning distance by two.
The DFRobot URM09 is an ultrasonic sensor specifically designed for fast distance measurement and obstacle avoidance. The measurement frequency can reach up to 30Hz. The sensor features automatic thermal support and an analog output, providing accurate distance measurements within 500cm.
It is compatible with Arduino, Raspberry Pi, or other basic control boards with logic levels of 3.3V or 5V.
Note: The sensor includes URM09 Ultrasonic Sensor (Gravity Analog) and PH2.0-3P Connector.
