it cannot maintain high speeds for extended periods of time, otherwise it is okay for SSD
I chose this drive instead of a similarly priced Kingston PCIE 4.0, as this one offers full 3rd generation speeds, while Kingston offers half of what 4th generation NVMe supports (I assume due to design and build quality). Indeed, the drive runs at the promised speeds, 3500MB/s read and 2,300MB/s write. Compared to an old sata 3 SSD, booting and opening applications are very fast, while loading screens in games are just a few seconds.
It is used in Acasis 40Gbps M.2 Nvme SSD Enclosure connected to Mac Mini M2, speed as promised, worth its money.
It does what it promises, replaced a smaller capacity Samsung 960 effectively and more. The system is old but boots up and runs applications and games satisfactorily. At €80 for 2TB, it's a great value for money.
I replaced a 4-year-old Adata XPG Gammix S11 Pro 256 with deteriorating health.
It is faster
I decided to try the M.2 from Western Digital.
Excellent speed, Read/Write exactly as stated (see the photos).
Surely, as I fill it up, it will decrease a bit, which is quite logical.
Temperatures are 35c idle and 55+ when playing games. (depends on each one's cooling system)
Nice program from Western Digital that shows us the status and life of the M.2, temperatures, as well as various S.M.A.R.T tools for troubleshooting, etc.
That's all and happy shopping!
In recent years, I only bought Samsung SSD/M.2, but after the recent experiences of other users, I decided to give WD a chance and I have to say that for now I am extremely satisfied. Great value for money, and I would buy it again without hesitation!
Like some aliens here in the reviews, I was also one of those curious ones who had HDD until 2023. I am truly shocked by the performance and how much of a difference it makes. I have tried on my acquaintances' PCs to see what it's like to have an SSD, even on more expensive ones than this western digital, but I can't say that I see a big difference. It is very cheap and works perfectly! I highly recommend it.
I was using an SSD until I decided (due to low capacity) to upgrade the disk. The speed is indeed significantly higher, with processes that typically took me around 4-6 minutes now completing in less than 2 minutes. At 95 euros, it is a pretty good purchase.
I noticed some differences from my old SSD (Patriot Spark - advertised speed of 500MB/s). Maybe it was also due to its age. But with this price and capacity, it's a fact that no SSD can compete with it, and many of the NVMe ones. The speed is as promised.
As the last inhabitant of the planet who used only one hdd for gaming and everything else, it would be redundant to say anything about this tool. Day and night, everything is now lightning fast. I can't compare it to other SSDs, but for me, it's a bullet.
Very good, and at excellent temperatures, but the image deceives you that it has a cooler, but it's fake news... whoever buys it should remember that they will need extra cooling.
Performance on the Lenovo Ideapad 3 with Windows 10
After a year, everything is super.
I use it with a case (Asus ROG Strix Arion M.2 PCI Express Hard Drive Case with USB 3.2 Type-C connection) as an external drive on my MacBook Pro M1. The speeds are exceptional. I won't mention numbers, but only that I have programs on the drive and they run as if they were installed on the internal drive. I am very satisfied with the work it does. Once again, a well-known company with quality products.
NVMe is cheaper than SATA.
Crazy good budget for 1TB.
Ideal for motherboards that support up to PCI Express 3.0 (if your motherboard supports up to 3.0 and you get an NVMe with PCI-E 4.0, you will never see this crazy speed).
Compared to a SATA SSD with 1/5 of the speed of the WD Blue, I see a difference in file management.
Overall, it's a great value for money and if I had a second slot, I would get another one.
It really is as fast as it says in the specifications. I bought 2 of the 500gb ones. It also provides a one-month free trial for Adobe Creative Cloud subscription for those who use the well-known software suite.
It is a good and economical city. I consider Western Digital products to be very reliable in general (I also use an external HDD for backup). The main use of the XPS 15 laptop I have with this SSD is for photo and video editing. Most people buying laptops (especially not gaming ones) consider that they should have the best SSD such as Samsung Evo, but given that laptops do not have very high performance, after a few hours of use, the performance decreases due to heat, so one will not see a dramatic difference in performance. This is my personal observation.
It was bought primarily to host games... Immediate response, fast writing... Even faster reading, without high temperatures for now... If we take into account the five-year warranty, the relatively low price and the reliability of the WD name... I believe that its purchase is absolutely worth it... I have had it for 2 months and it works flawlessly... :-)
I have been using the disk for about 4 months now. So far, my impressions couldn't be anything other than positive. It's as fast as it promises, as I checked it through CrystalDiskMark (I'll upload a photo later). I have it as the disk that carries some apps and my OS. The boot time is extremely short and overall you feel comfortable using it. If it had a slightly better write, it would be one of the best disks on the market. I recommend it without reservation...
I bought it for data. Unlike my second NVME which houses the OS, I haven't noticed any issues with response time or speed. I hope it lasts for many years.
It doesn't get crazy temperatures at all while using it for 144 FPS gaming, it's quite fast.
This SSD is much faster than the 2 SATA RAID 0 SSDs I had before.
It was used with the Gigabyte Brix BMCE-5105 (rev. 1.0) Barebone (Celeron Quad Core-N5105). It was detected immediately, Windows 10 was installed quickly without any problems, and it works perfectly with the aforementioned barebone.
It's very fast with a caveat.
2. During continuous transfer of over 10 GB, the write speed to the drive drops to around 550MB/sec. It's rare for the average user to notice this as motherboards with very fast USB ports are expensive and used by professionals, such as those transferring high-resolution photos or videos from an external drive.
3. The read speed from the disk remains consistently high.
4. In my standard case, using Windows runs smoothly. I haven't noticed anything running slow.
It delivers what it promises in terms of speed... What else can I say? Simply perfect and very fast, with a 5-year warranty and Western Digital quality! There is no better option for its price when it comes to quality and speed, so hurry up and get the SN570 while it's still available for €52.
