As hardware, it's fine. The software is terrible. It has 1002 bugs, from when you connect it to a computer, you can't send files from the computer to the phone, even with the screen locked, which sometimes locks it for up to 30 minutes for entering the wrong code. Several times it doesn't display contacts when they call, and finally, its camera is worse than the s9 I had 6 years ago. I've been using it for 2 years now, and the first problems appeared 1.5 years ago. I would never buy an Honor phone again.

It takes perfect photos, doesn't freeze, and because I am clumsy, it has fallen 100 times and doesn't have a single scratch, without a screen protector. I have had the mobile phone in my possession for almost 2 years, so I believe I have a comprehensive opinion.
Initially, the phone runs smoothly. I have not experienced any crashes, even though I am a demanding user. I use it for browsing, camera, internet, social media, and music, and it has never crashed.
The photos it takes are amazing. I used an iPhone 12 before, and I can say that I liked the camera on my Honor better. The video quality is good, nothing extraordinary, but it definitely satisfies the average user.
The battery is okay. In the first year, it easily lasted a day and something, but now if I push it, I might need to charge it a second time.
The screen is amazing. Beautiful colors, and the curved edges make it even more attractive.

Did you find this review helpful? Coming from Honor p20, I have the following things to mention that I think would interest most people:
1. It takes photos and videos from another planet.
2. It doesn't lag anywhere (obviously with 8 GB RAM and such a CPU).
3. Excellent screen resolution.
However,
1. It presented me with an issue with the sim card on day 1, which worked perfectly fine with my other phone but wasn't recognized or seen properly by this phone. I got a new sim card and everything has been fine so far (2 months). Of course, this happened to me and probably won't be a rule.
2. The speaker doesn't sound very good (although I'm not an audio expert, I immediately noticed differences compared to the p20).
3. The fingerprint sensor on the screen is very slow (probably for cost reduction), which means that with the glass protector I have, it works but not perfectly.Finally, the battery with a lot of talking and video usage lasts me around 25-35% in 24 hours, just like the p20 after 3 years of use. Charging is very fast.
Overall, it's a pretty good value for money phone (400 euros), I believe. However, compared to the p20 I had, besides the photos (which it also took great photos), it doesn't have significant differences. But I think that nowadays, all phones in this category have become so advanced that only the camera will be the point of comparison, as the rest will work flawlessly.
If there is anything noteworthy in the future, I will come back.

Everything is fine so far except that the phone DOES NOT connect to Android Auto! This is very bad because if you get a car, you have to change your phone if you want maps, etc., unless you use it as before. The workarounds I found did not work, and Honor's support is useless (at least regarding this issue). In my case, I have a spare phone and a number that I permanently keep in the car.
It's a big disappointment for something so standard...

Very good mobile phone, I have it for about 6 months, it's beautiful overall, it looks very nice. The camera and video are incredibly good, the screen is simply wonderful. It charges really fast, like you can put it for about a quarter and it meets your needs for making calls, using the internet, and so on. The battery lasts for a day, and let's say in the evening it's at 15-20%, while other phones with the same usage (moderate to heavy) have 40% remaining. But maybe it's because I have many apps running and everything is open. The phone doesn't lag at all, the screen at 60hz, which I have to save battery, feels like having 120hz. It's a very reliable mobile phone.

I have inserted 2 SIM cards and the battery easily lasts me a day (social media usage, taking a few photos, accessing website backends while on the go, listening to some music - that kind of stuff). It is quite fast and has not frozen or lagged anywhere so far (which impressed me considering its processor). The photos are okay and the screen is quite good, with vibrant colors. During outdoor use, where I took over 700 photos and videos, the battery was fine - it lasted me the whole day... I am absolutely impressed with the fast charging, which is very convenient. It is a bit large in the hand, making one-handed use a bit difficult. The software receives updates and is user-friendly, without being heavy - at least it gives that impression. I bought it for around 400 euros, and I think it is definitely worth it - it is a fair price for what you get... The dual SIM feature is a big positive for me - it has been quite useful.

The photos are quite good in the morning, but simple at night. Among its very positive features is the fast charging, it's fully charged in less than half an hour. Among its negatives, it's not easy to find membranes or cases, no one brings them and any protection you put on breaks or comes off due to the curved screen. In video, when you press to start, it takes about 4-5 seconds to start, the same goes for photos, sometimes it takes a while to take them and it says "beautification" and freezes. Also, when it freezes after misuse of GPS, etc., you restart it and it adjusts the brightness and makes it automatically change with the sun. Something that I haven't figured out how to fix yet.

Amazing camera (even at night), nice sound, could have more bass, I can hear and be heard perfectly on calls. I don't play games. Battery lasts comfortably for 2 days with moderate use (2-3 hours of calls + one-two hours of internet), charges quickly. The screen is flawless, fingerprint sensor is almost perfect, as well as the face unlock. Unfortunately, it doesn't have LED notification and radio.

This means it has all the good things that Huawei had, such as overall build quality, battery management, signal reception, excellent user interface, etc. Indeed, the phone is excellent for the mid-range category it targets. The positives have already been mentioned, so I won't repeat them. As for the negatives, I will mention the following. The camera is average for its category (although it is not significantly lacking, it is not as amazing as some present it to be). The frame is not aluminum as mentioned in various reviews. (This makes the construction lighter, but it significantly reduces the quality and durability of the device). The speaker is monophonic and completely unacceptable (there are much better monophonic speakers in the competition). The curved screen is beautiful but unfortunately very vulnerable, as it is impossible to properly fit a protective glass due to its curvature, resulting in easy breakage in the event of a fall (note that it comes with a protective membrane from the factory). My evaluation refers to the 256GB version, which was purchased (with a discount) for 320 euros, which in my opinion is the price it deserves based on what it offers and always in comparison to the competition. Overall, it is a device that does everything quite well and will not disappoint the average user. Those who desire "something more" should probably look elsewhere (and at different prices, of course). I hope I helped... I have no complaints about the phone, it responds perfectly to everything I have needed. I consider it to be a great value for money. I will mention a couple of things as imperfections.
It has a curved screen, which is very beautiful. However, it is a bit dysfunctional. Initially, I thought that there is no protective glass for this screen, only a film. Also, at the point of curvature, if you want to press, for example, the zero (0) which is on top of the curve, it is not easy to reach, or in general, if you want to select something that is right there, like closing a window (x).
Some people say that the battery could last longer, but this is completely subjective and depends on how you use it. It definitely lasts from morning until afternoon with constant browsing, games, GPS, and Bluetooth enabled. It seems unreasonable to expect it to last for two days. Also, it has very fast charging (fully charges in 20-30 minutes), so it is not a big hassle to recharge it if needed.
The camera takes a little longer to capture the photo from the moment you press the button, and it also takes time between consecutive shots, but I think it is a setting that I have not found yet. Nevertheless, the quality of the photos and videos is very good.
Also, the speaker could be a little louder.
Finally, there is an issue with 5G, but I don't know if it is the phone's fault or if the signal is not yet available everywhere.
Update: After almost a year and a half, I dare to say that I never found a setting for the photos. To take a good photo, you need to have a steady hand like a surgeon, otherwise, the figures may appear as blurry ghosts, without legs, and anything that moved appears half.
Also, the camera in videos is perfect only in daylight. In low light conditions inside the house, the videos are also dim. And the darker it gets, the worse it becomes.
Unfortunately, I was not satisfied at all. In fact, I bought it when my daughter was born, and I have missed countless moments of capturing her because the camera does not function as it should. I do not recommend it if the main use is for taking photos.

Now that its price has dropped, I definitely recommend this phone. I did a lot of research on it before buying, and not just a buyer's research, a hardcore buyer's research of a hardcore geek. So, I think you can trust my review here.
I have been using iPhones since smartphones came to earth. Two years ago, I completely abandoned Apple and switched to Android phones. I started with budget phones and gradually upgraded my model every year.
Huawei P Smart S (fantastic budget phone), Realme 8 (possibly the best budget mid-ranger), and now Honor 50 (excellent mid-ranger).
Personally, I prefer the Honor 50 because I believe Huawei has the best overall phone design and hardware specifications for Android phones. I also love their UI, but without Google, it lost some vital features for me, so I went for Realme for a short period.
This phone has been on my radar since Honor announced it. Let me quickly tell you about the pros and cons:
- Possibly the best display you can get for this price, and even for any price.
- Sleek design and extremely lightweight. Feels fantastic in hand. The grip and usability are very ergonomic. P Smart S also had a very similar design, but it was too slippery, this one is not.
- Very fast and flexible UI.
- GMS integration is not perfect.
- Magic UI 6 update and Android 12 have not yet arrived on mine, but I believe they will by autumn. They must, otherwise I'm not very satisfied with the software.
- Sometimes apps are unresponsive, or the operating system resets some of my preferences, which is quite annoying. But I wouldn't say it's problematic.
- I complain about the software because Realme phones have much better GMS integration compared to this. However, Honor is not Huawei, and it may need some improvement in this area. Maybe when I get the Magic UI 6, it will become better.
- Camera performance has been disappointing so far, but I'm willing to give it more time.If you can find a deal around €250 or even less, don't think twice. It's worth it. But, due to the drawbacks, it won't be worth more than this price.
Personally, I will definitely use this phone for the next couple of years until I find a good alternative solution, or a competitor hopefully from Honor or Huawei again.
One last note, this phone is better than the Google Pixel 6 in overall comparison, when considering every criterion.

It is a very user-friendly device, with a beautiful design, fits well in the hand, and for a 6.5" screen, I would say it is extremely lightweight. The colors and high resolution screen will satisfy you, I believe. It does not freeze in any of the applications it has needed (6GB version), no overheating, and the operating system does not have unnecessary bloatware. The front/back cameras take very good photos. The 66W charger usually takes me about half an hour to charge daily, but this depends on each person's needs. The headphones included in the package provide good quality. It has been announced that an update for Android 12 will be available soon.
Personal advice, pay attention to the choice of case, so that it protects the back camera well, as it protrudes quite a bit. With a price now below €350, it is worth it as a purchase.

User of the Honor 50 5G 6/128 (purchased from a major retail chain), after using it for a month, I have the following to say as a personal opinion about this smartphone:
- Package (device, accessories, charger): 10/10
[offers everything out-of-the-box]
- Device, design, ease of grip, weight, dimensions, one-handed usability: 10/10
- Display: 9.5/10
[loses half a point only if you are used to Samsung's AMOLED displays that have more vibrant/saturated colors regardless of screen brightness. The H50 has slightly muted colors at low brightness. The screen's touch response is excellent, very fast, and scrolling is incredibly smooth. No complaints!]
- Processor: 10/10
[a gem, doesn't lag anywhere, not in multiple apps, not in games, etc.]
- Software: 10/10
[HONOR's MagicUI is excellent, lightweight, without bloatware and ads, and the overall experience is exceptional]
- User audio quality: 6/10-8/10

The main battery issues are that a) it consumes disproportionately when the device is idle (even in airplane mode), b) due to the inability to disable VOLTE, it consumes more, and c) while it has endurance, it doesn't have a reserve in demand, and although it gives the impression that it will last, it decreases disproportionately. At this point, it should be noted that although the battery is officially 4,300mAh, in reality, it may be at least 4,200mAh. The same applies, of course, to all other manufacturers, but here you have a 6.57" screen, 120Hz with a battery equivalent to a 6.2"-6.4" screen.](*) Points you should know:
- the device almost NEVER heats up, only very occasionally during gaming
- the curved/edge display is beautiful, excellent, but a) the hand holding it embraces it (which is positive) to the point of covering the edges (not so good, but it's something you get used to and becomes part of the device experience)
- precisely because the screen is curved, and therefore more exposed than more traditional smartphones, screen protection with tempered glass is REQUIRED, not a film.
- The 66W charger is very fast, but a) it doesn't charge as quickly as the company claims (it has a small deviation, which is probably insignificant), b) you have to charge it with the cable provided by HONOR in the package. If you use a cable from another fast charger or, even worse, try to charge it with a charger from another company, like XIAOMI 65W, you won't achieve the same charging times with the mama cable-charger.IS IT WORTH BUYING?
- It's worth it for something so aesthetically unique and at the same time high-quality and practical.
- It's worth it for a purchase price up to €300-€350.
- It's not worth it if you're looking for solid autonomy, meaning not a beast of autonomy, but a battery with a "body" that can consistently withstand the most demanding use, and obviously I'm not referring to games but to persistent use of web surfing, social media, Spotify, etc., and obviously with mobile internet, WiFi, and Bluetooth on. (Let's not start the story of closing A, closing B, setting the screen to 60Hz, etc. to have good autonomy. The only thing I accept is the use of moderate battery saving, which I have used and continue to use.)CONCLUSION: If you buy it, you will "stick" with it. A very good user experience!
