This waterproof thin membrane features a water-repellent coating, which prevents the fabric from getting completely wet and helps it breathe to the desired degree. Other details also contribute to keeping the body protected from harsh weather conditions.
The front zipper has a rain cover with Velcro® closure, which prevents water from seeping in. The hood, stored in the neckline, tightens securely with the drawstring.
The elasticated cuffs and covered pockets for the hands with zippers protect you as best as possible from rain and cold air.
This is a waterproofing technology with high breathability that uses a polyurethane (PU) layer consisting of a three-component multilayer formula to provide us with waterproofing, moisture permeability (breathability), and durability.
The durable woven exterior repels rain while the inner layer uses the polyurethane coating and micropores to drive water vapor to the outer layer. The end result is a technology that has excellent waterproofing and breathability.
It is also very important that The North Face™ informs us about the durability of the DryVent® membrane by specifying the number of washes for which its permeability duration has been measured.

This specific membrane is exclusively for city walks and nothing else. Its waterproofing is nonexistent and it is not suitable for use in the mountains and in the rain. Unfortunately, TNF, although it used to be the top company for mountaineering products, has lowered its standards and has become exclusively a fashion company.
thinner than it appears in the photo... it is closer to a windbreaker for running than a jacket...
