Unfortunately, I put in six different batteries and it didn't work. The box was dented, but I hoped it would work. What a shame. I bought it to give as a gift and of course that never happened. I would expect a store with electrical supplies and lighting to have checked if it was okay. Other than that, a perfectly nice gnome...

Divine......! Its legs extend and retract, its nose is illuminated, and its overall construction is very good. The beard and fabrics are soft and do not smell like plastic like some others... also, it is large (read product description) it is truly worth the money. I put it under the tree every year and enjoy it very much! I might get a second one at some point. UPDATE: Despite the careful packaging I give it every year, this year (4th Christmas) its nose no longer lights up, something must have burned out - it’s not the battery as I tried with a new one
