Tabernil vermicide is an endoparasiticide against nematode parasites. The main action of levamisole is the paralysis of endoparasites and their removal from the host (bird).

Composition: Levamisole (hydrochloride) 75 mg, excipients q.s. 1 ml.

Indications: Treatment of nematode parasites.

Species for which the product is intended:

• Canaries
• Ornamental birds (budgerigars, finches, pigeons, etc.)

Dosage and administration: Administer through drinking water for one day at a dose of 2 ml/litre of water, which is equivalent to 2 drops per 40 ml of water. Do not exceed the recommended dose. In case of severe infection, repeat the dosage after 2-3 weeks. The birds should rest during administration.

Contraindications: Do not administer to birds in a state of stress, emaciation, during an illness, or to birds with severe liver or kidney problems.

Interactions: Do not administer organophosphates or citric diethylcarbamazine 14 days after administering levamisole. Avoid co-administration with other substances such as phenothiazine, methadone, or procaine.

Adverse effects: None reported in birds.

Overdosage: Toxicity symptoms may appear if double the dose is administered. These symptoms include hyperactivity and muscle tremors. Follow symptomatic treatment.

Storage: Keep the vial tightly closed, in a cool and dark place.
