The fresh potatoes fry perfectly in 15 minutes (we time it when the oil starts to bubble) at 175 degrees. It is a decent portion for one person. For two people, you will need a side dish or fry twice consecutively. The basket and the tray are small. It takes almost a liter of oil. The fryer lid has a filter, like the one we use in the extractor hood, and you can change it yourself. Before I bought it, I saw in a photo (I don't remember on which site) that it has a glass on the top, so you can see at what stage the potatoes are. That's not true. A few drops of steam will fall, so it is advisable to put a cloth under the fryer. The lid does not lock, but that doesn't bother me in frying. It is good to open the lid to see how cooked the potatoes are, wearing oven gloves, as you can get injured from the steam. The kitchen doesn't smell, thanks to the filter, but I still open the extractor hood to be sure. The fryer does not have a timer, but that is not a problem for me. Also, it does not have an on/off switch. You plug it in and unplug it. You can prepare various foods. Tomorrow, I plan to fry calamari rings. I believe they will turn out as good as the fresh potatoes it makes. I did not purchase another fryer because the others have more watts and a basket that requires much more oil. The basket of this specific fryer is not detachable, but that doesn't bother me much. It is small and relatively easy to clean. I live with my partner, and the quantity is enough for us along with a side dish. For one person, a bachelor, a student, and someone who is not so demanding in terms of food quantity, it is perfect and worth its money.
I bought it for 24.90 and I have had it for 2 years with no problems. It produces a large frying pan for one person but also satisfies two people if there is something accompanying the potatoes. The best thing about it is that it is fast, economical, and fries very well. I highly recommend it
The fryer is great, with the detail that the portion it will produce is enough for one person. However, it makes potatoes very well, I feel like I'm in a souvlaki shop. It is very small and requires a little oil, but that is also its disadvantage, that it is very small. I mean, it doesn't make enough portion for two people. How long it will last, we will see, but for 20 euros it is a good purchase.
It cooks quickly but for very small quantities. The oil draining and cleaning are not the best as it does not have a removable basket. It does not have a power switch, only a thermostat (which does not inspire confidence), so you have to unplug it after cooking. Finally, the handle for the basket requires great attention during assembly because if it does not hold well, the basket can slip off the handle.
As a bachelor, I can say that this specific fryer serves me excellently... Specifically:
Advantages (+Features):
1. Cheap (I bought it for 19.5 euros including shipping from a well-known Greek online store / February 2020). If it breaks or if I decide to buy a bigger one, I won't cry over my money.
2. Lightweight and doesn't take up much space.
3. Cleans relatively easily.
4. Fries one to two servings of potatoes (I would prefer a few more).
5. Requires a small amount of oil (1 liter max).
6. Economical in terms of power consumption compared to others (850W).
Disadvantages: Not particularly high-quality construction, but for its price, it's fine
It makes a full pan of potatoes, perfect for 1-2 people, very good construction and lightweight. I chose it mainly for its capacity, very positive that it doesn't require a lot of oil.
It is small and economical. Its basket can hold a batch of fries equivalent to a medium-sized frying pan. It requires a little oil (calculate 2 times the amount of oil for a medium-sized pan). It fries perfectly and in no time, whatever you want! It is very easy to clean. I recommend it!
