The young archaeologist Agnes Marti moves from Barcelona to London in search of a job. Shortly after arriving in the city, while walking in Temple, a sudden downpour forces her to seek shelter in Moonlight Books, a very special bookstore. The owner is looking for an employee; Agnes is charmed by his unique personality and decides to take the position.
Time passes and Agnes begins to learn the grumpy character of her boss and the eccentricities of the regular customers, the charismatic boy who wants to become an astronaut, the lady with the violet hair. She feels drawn by the magic of this lovable bookstore. Until one day, a valuable book disappears.
Inspector John Lockwood takes on the case, disturbing the peace and tranquility of Agnes.
A story for those who have felt that literature saved them. The most feel-good novel you will read this year.

One of the most boring books I've read, it doesn't convey any emotion, there are many references to other books and authors to the point that it becomes even more meaningless and tiring, I felt like I had entered a bookstore and the employee was trying to sell me some books. The reference to the Parthenon Marbles annoyed me even more because it indirectly but clearly conveys the message that our Marbles will never be returned to us.... I would not recommend it under any circumstances, I wonder how it became a bestseller, I write better stories... maybe the author bought all the copies or paid...
I bought it as it is a quite popular book that unfortunately did not hold my interest as it had no particular plot. It is easy to read for someone who wants to kill their time casually, but I would not recommend it to anyone to buy.
I definitely wouldn't recommend it for purchase. Now, if by chance you happen to come across it and have time, I suppose it's okay. The issue is that it doesn't have any particular plot. There is an excessive reference to books, authors, and works of art to the point where it becomes tiresome. Simply put, by finishing it, you understand that it was more or less a book about nothing, without any special emotions, twists, etc. Definitely not the most feel-good novel you would read, as it claims.
If you are looking for a small, relaxing read with no significant plot to pass the time, it's okay but that's about it. The writing is pleasant at some points, but the lack of plot and well-developed characters make it almost indifferent in my opinion. The point referring to the Marbles of the Parthenon is annoying, as it supports their stay in the British Museum by presenting ridiculous arguments.
It starts off nicely, but page after page it becomes boring. By the middle, you have already understood what will happen and it simply doesn't capture your interest.
Boring and shallow with no particular plot. Neither the characters have any interest. Don't bother reading it
I don't know if I would recommend it to someone. It has nothing to do with comments like "the most feel-good novel, etc." It's okay, it's a pleasant read but it doesn't have anything special as a story.
Unfortunately, one of the worst I have read.
I didn't connect with any character at all and it felt like there was no plot.
The plot that did exist was quite weak.
I would pick it up and put it down constantly, and usually I can finish a book in 2 days at most.
I was very disappointed.
Odorless, tasteless, colorless. Full of clichés, to the point where the characters don't have a single normal dialogue but rather an exchange of wordplay and literary quotes that are so fake they insult the reader's intelligence. Stereotypical characters that make you feel like you've seen them in thousands of other references, books, movies! (you have actually seen them, but better written). Without depth and substance, they parade as empty and clichéd in a story without backbone, without interest, written like a London postcard and nothing more. The only quality of the heroine is her fairy-like beauty and her big eyes that contribute nothing to the story's development, and are emphasized again and again, even in 2022 and written by a woman, I am bothered by such a shallow portrayal of a heroine. As a story, it leaves you with nothing, it's like watching a daytime soap opera on TV on a Saturday afternoon and not caring if you fall asleep! In short, skip it! Get something else!
Boring, without any special plot.
Cliché, boring, I have no idea why this lightweight, pointless read became an international bestseller!
One of the most boring readings I've ever had.
Nice writing and plot! Easy to read!
