Essentially an elastic sheet. It doesn't have a shape to fit on the couch, so it doesn't fit well in the corners. The packaging includes some foam rods (see description photo), but they can't hold it in place. Therefore, you can't place it with the pillows (which is what I wanted to do). If you have pillows in the same color or covers, then MAYBE you'll be okay.
