  Update: I see that many of you do not agree with me; for those who are not familiar with probiotics, do your research first before purchasing (talk to your doctor) and do not rely on the comments on Skroutz.

  What works for me may not work for you.

  Since I see that there is quite a bit of half-knowledge around probiotics, I will tell you five things to know, after years of use, extensive research (scientific studies and not just what they say on Google), as well as discussions with doctors regarding the intestinal issues I have faced due to poor diet.

  Let me start by saying that I am currently taking this specific supplement since I am on antibiotics.

  It is a probiotic that contains 50 billion bacteria. Although this sounds impressive, such high doses are not necessary for everyday health.

  In some cases, such large numbers can cause mild side effects (as others mention in the comments), such as bloating, stomach discomfort, diarrhea, or even constipation. However, these are temporary and usually subside after about 10 days.

  It is an overkill product, and it is best to take it only during the course of antibiotic treatment or if your doctor recommends it for a serious condition.

  It is a bit of marketing; many of the strains it contains are NOT needed.

  Bacteria are like magnesium; there are different types, and each one is suitable for something else. Malate is for energy, for example, while another is for cramps, etc. The same goes for bacteria; you need to find out which type is suitable for your problem and take that one. It will be much more economical since this specific one is expensive due to the many strains.

  For daily use and maintenance of health (and for me, who has always eaten junk food and had issues with my gut), I take a supplement with 10 billion strains on a permanent basis, and it is more than enough; I noticed a difference from the very first box.

  Remember that excess dosage does not always mean better results.

  Finally, yes, it is an amazing product, 5/5, but in 99% of cases, you can get by with a more economical option that targets your problem, even if it contains 5 or 10 billion strains.
