It's Christmas Eve. Josh and Lena are very upset: as is customary in Germany, they have prepared their gift list for the Christmas angel. Only the Christmas walk remains, and when they return, they will find them waiting under the tree! The walk ends, and the children rush into the living room. And they see... absolutely nothing. Neither the Christmas angel is there nor their gifts. The only happy one is dad, a passionate ornithologist, who just recently found an unusual injured bird. Josh and Lena have a suspicion and devise a plan. Together with their friends, they visit the Ornithological Station and see what the adults ignore: curled up inside the cage and wrapped in its large wings is the Christmas angel!
